Barry Jamieson have been part of the electronic music scene since the mid 80's. 

He was co-owner of Fluid Recordings UK Limited, and one half of Evolution, He started his musical career way back in 1986, when (with fellow musical partner John Sutton), Evolution was first formed. Their first single “Came out of nowhere” was released on their early record label Positive Vinyl. They called on the services of a young DJ, who was starting to make a name for him self, to remix the track. His name was Sasha, and it was his first ever venture in to the recording world. As you might have guessed, it was the start of a great friendship.

He spent 8 years working alongside DJ Sasha and Charlie May, recording and mixing all of Sasha's work since 2003. This included the ground breaking Involver and Involver 2 albums.

As one half Evolution, he had built up quite a reputation, over the year’s. With hit singles such as “Love is calling”, “Phoenix”, and the massive, “Walking on Fire” of 2003.

Barry (and his past production partner John Sutton) had also been responsible for some great remixes over the past 10 years. These would include, BT “Quark” & “Dreaming”, Bedrock “Heaven Scent”, Breeder “Tyrantanic” to name but a few.

Barry has always been very much involved in every aspect of the music industry. From engineering, and co-producing nearly all the track released on Fluid, to putting out quite a few of the classics tracks with which Fluid had become renowned for. Tracks such as Arrakis “Aira Force”, Escape “Cascade”, JB “Lazy Dayz”, and of course, the infamous, Evolution “Phoenix”, which was featured on the very first Sasha and Digweed “Northern Exposure Album.


Barry also did a lot of remix and production work with Bill Hamel. Together they did remixes for Madonna, Brittany Spears, New Order and Seal, which we were both nominated for a Grammy in 2004 (best remix) for the track "Get together".

For our final record of the year, we turn to Glasgow's man of the year - Denis Sulta.

Like a good chunk of the Numbers family, he has earnt his stripes working at the coalface of techno aka Rubadub. He has crafted two excellent twelves for our bare-chested cousins at Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and is beginning to carve himself out a reputation as a DJ of some repute, expertly blending in the bangers with Sulta-certified weirdness. Denis is part of a new wave of Glaswegian artists who are doing amazing things and whose music is continuously exciting us.

‘It’s Only Real’ created by Sulta during a burst of inspiration one Sunday, takes us back to a time when techno was intricately melodic but still kicked hard in the club. Made with only the purest of intentions and a dedication to the art of moving heads and feet.

Nick Muir has always been a big fave here at C-U is best known for his work as a producer of electronic dance music both on his own and as one half of the Bedrock production team with John Digweed.

John Digweed and Nick Muir's partnership has been one of electronic music's most fruitful pairings. Between them, they've creating a body of work that’s seen them become one of the world’s most highly regarded production duos.

Together, they've been involved in many pivotal moments in the world of club music with their music even helping to define some genres.

Classic tracks like 'For What You Dream Of' and 'Heaven Scent' under Digweed and Muir's Bedrock monkier, plus Nick's own 'Stoneage' as Floorjam are widely regarded as classics, which are still played all over the world today.

Muir's music has been used extensively in film and both he and John have written scores for, amongst others, 'Stark Raving Mad' (Newmarket films) and 'Spiderman - the animated series' which won a Dancestar award for Best Use of Music in a TV Show.

'For What You Dream Of' was famously used in the club scene of the phenomenally successful era defining film, 'Trainspotting'.

Hunter/Game is an Italian electronic music duo comprising of Martino Bertola and 
Emmanuele Nicosia. Born and bred in Milan, Italy, these two visionary artists have carved a 
distinct niche in the realm of electronic music with their signature sound characterized by 
deep, emotive melodies and hypnotic rhythms.

Martino and Emmanuele’s musical journey began separately, with each of them exploring 
various genres and styles before fate brought them together. Their paths converged in 2010 
when they decided to combine their individual talents and embark on a collaborative
