**Production Notes**

Netlabel Remixes for the Disquiet Junto are always nice - in my hands, they tend to become beats ranging from 90 to 120 bpm. This one's 104 bpm.

All the sounds were made from the material provided. The samples were used for all the drums, drumloops and gnarly melody loops. 

Well, I cheated a bit and rendered one MIDI melody / bassline from the original sample material. Ableton Live does that magic trick. Took an 303 wannabe emulation I built several weeks ago in Live. The rest was twisting knobs and trying to get the levels right.

4 hours of work. My ears bleed. Tired now. Good nite.

Last Kiss, Lingering

after downloading and listening to the three tracks (which are all excellent in their own right) I cut  out the bits required and looped parts pitchshifted parts and drank beer.
then i relooped and resampled parts, a bit of panning here and there and more beer eventually I ended up with this, which is exactly what I really wanted in the first place.

happiness is wanting what you have, eh?

I’m stoked to (finally) submit a track to a junto project! I’ve been following it for a long time but never managed to take part. Until now!

I started by looking at pictures of beehives on google. From there i got the idea to create a midi track in Ableton and manually ‘paint’ the structure of the beehive with midi notes. I then looking for the appropriate instrument to play these midi notes. I choose Aalto’s FM Plonk (by Richard Devine). I tweaked the settings a little to suit my taste (a little more reverb for example). 
Thereafter i remembered i had a recording of bees (and frogs) from a couple of years back. I added this layer. The result is a mixture highly abstract synthetic sounds, representing the structure of the beehive, with the sounds of the bees themselves, buzzing around and in this structure.

What does it sound like when a robot has the blues?

Can’t quite tell for other cities, but believe me: this is  the kind of music robots like to listen to in my hometown when they get sad and low.
Buenos Aires is a melancholic city, and robots are not spared.

I won’t be surprised if this track becomes a hit among robots, my vacuum cleaner got weird while I was mixing this earlier this morning.

Not a "Greatest Hit" per se, but easily my favorite (early) Mac song, edited across multiple versions & fidelities to play somewhat seamlessly for over 2 hours, with the mix slowly being eroded by a cavernous echo that is being gated by the dynamics of the dry signal.

EDIT, 06/17/18. I was taken aback by Danny Kirwan's passing a few days after I originally posted this. One of my all-time favorites, esp. within the context of both this lineup of Mac & this particular song; the original studio session which starts off the proceedings here was his first recorded appearance with the band! 

I've taken the original premise & fleshed it out a bit further, so that it can be put it to rest; this revised version uses the following versions of "Albatross" in a program that loops three times; almost entirely dry, then slowly fading in the reverb signal, finally slowly fading out the dry signal:

It has subsequently been translated into Japanese (2019) and Spanish (2018)
