Carlton Doom makes a return to Hypercolour with a brand-new album. ‘Frankenstein’ pulls together a stellar collection of raw and unadulterated techno & electronic tracks produced over the last ten years.

The Belfast based producer & DJ has previously dropped face melting releases on Hotflush, Deep Sea Frequency & Cead, alongside a handful of Hypercolour releases, most recently, his Fine EP in 2023. A collab track with Warchief makes up a heady and eclectic hoard of leftfield electronica.

In true More Rice style, from Deep, Dub Minimal to Techo House, to Techno, Electro to Trance you name it, we have it all. As a label More Rice has mainly focused on artists from Asia, and this compilation is no different, its to show how diverse and eclectic the Asian scene is at the moment, with many different sounds coming out of different cities and countries. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this compilation, it’s a special one!

13. Bagvs - Untitled 14

FABZ's debut EP on @discos_extendes consists of two simple tracks. “How It Feels” is a house roller, driven by a very “deep” bass, which develops around some vocal hooks. Here there is a clear aesthetic contrast between a certain melancholy present in the first part of the song and an emotional crescendo, somewhat inspiring, that appears in the second half. Maybe like someone taking a deep breath, gaining strength to move forward after a huge heartbreak.

“Coming Home” is an R’n’B hit, which combines a ravy and breakbeat aesthetic with the sensitivity of The F Libra’s lyrics, in a style that may remind us of some George Riley songs. Here too the theme is that of overcoming, and about a healing process... but an overcoming that will only be done in that comfort allowed by returning home. Two hot, tender and emotionally charged tracks.

The jungle was swamped with rogues and tyrants. Between the trees their warwhoops echoed, at least so his head indicated. Popping the pill he had entered a world of 2mg delirium, a chaotic blur of colours and mystical landscapes. What was real or make believe was now far beyond comprehension as his feet pedalled quickly beneath him. The forest floor was damp and moist beneath the pouring rain and his shoes squelched in the marshy ground. 

Reptant is set to release a new EP on Tomahawk Records in the form of "Night Time Creepin". Intelligent techno with a disorientated edge.
