"Daydream" is my first solo release of 2023. The project was started on March 25th of 2020, and production took roughly 9 hours. All production, mixing, and mastering was done by me.
Even though I started this project back in early 2020, a large portion of the production didn't take place until this year. I recently upgraded my PC, and I found this work-in-progress while organizing files. Once I heard it, I knew I had to finish it up.

Darklight has two meanings for me. 

First it's a portrait.. you could even call it a love letter, to the independent producer community. People often only see the end result of a track. the polished final product. What most people don't realise is the sheer volume of hard work that goes into personal and skills development,  technical competencies, mixing, mastering, sound design and composition. 
Then there's marketing, promotion, branding, networking, social media management, ads and analytics... all of which is underpinned by a 24/7 focus to do their best work every day. 
And it's hard. Especially when you get flippant comments from playlist curators (literally every artist I know has experienced this) who really should know better...

Many producers quit. All producers find some days harder than others, trying to make space for their passion alongside work, family and life in general. But sheer determination and commitment pushes them on, through the dark days, to find th moment where something clicks. The adrenalin from producing something that expresses that which you intended, perfectly. There's no better feeling. 

It's also a self portrait. 

Darklight has been a hugely challenging production to complete - 63 tracks,. 11 changes and a lot of clashing sounds in the early stages of development .But I'm really proud of the final product. It encapsulates the sound I want to make. A blend of light ethereal sounds, coupled with dark undertones. A fusion of dark and light. Energy and trepidation. 
I'm so happy with the result and I truly hope you enjoy it!

This Time

In 1985 a little boy was born who loved the 80´s so much that he build a super Time Machine. He called this Time Machine "The Hyperdrive". With this Machine he can travel through Time. A Kombination of the Magic Ticket and the Flux Capacitor makes all of this possible, to bring back the 80´s.
