Phase Group continue their exploration of the fringes of contemporary electronic music with a release that brings together two separate projects born from analogue hardware improvisations. 

‘A Given Moment’ presents the dub-laden, mind-bending and noise-driven music of Brussels-based artist and Vastechoses label head Lostsoundbytes, and the lo-fi, early morning lysergic experiments of Lowspace, an unearthed, forgotten collaborative project by French DJ and musician Low Bat and Dresden-based producer Heninspace.

This is music that takes you deeper into the vortex, made for dark and smoke-enveloped clubs and cosmic day-break afterparty moments. On the A-side, Lostsoundbytes continues his prolific output of masterfully crafted bass-heavy and dub-wise analogue machine jams, while the B-side presents two lost psychotropic experimental recordings by Lowspace made in 2016 upon a visit by Low Bat to Heninspace’s Dresden studio.

At Nebulae HQ we always had a weakness for Supernova Remnants. They heat up the interstellar medium, distribute heavy elements throughout the galaxy and accelerate cosmic rays. We thought this concept was perfect as a metaphor for our compilations, so here we are with another cosmic trip towards one of this amazing cosmic phenomena.

The Medulla Nebula (or CTB-1) is the expanding gas shell that was left when a massive star toward the constellation of Cassiopeia exploded about 10,000 years ago. The resulting supernova remnant, nicknamed the Medulla Nebula for its brain-like shape, still glows in visible light by the heat generated by its collision with confining interstellar gas.

Various - Urban Connections: XIX [COMPILATION] [2023]

Gladio Operations label presents its ninth release, with volume 2 of the Split Machine series, which this time features two new and recognised faces on the European and American electro scene.

One of these new faces is producer Noamm. This Greek artist, who has releases on such respected labels as Bass Agenda and Fundamental Records, opens the EP with "Clone Machine" and "Scientific Technological Device", two excellent rough and pragmatic tracks which link perfectly with “Verruckter Wissenschaftler”. The latter track, a fast-paced cut impregnated with tasty dark textures, perfectly defines the talent of the Hellenic producer. 

The B-side bears the signature of Brice Kelly, who also debuts on Gladio Operations and gifts us three fantastic, enveloping, and melodic tracks. The American producer kicks off with “Beings of Alpha”, a deep and very well-constructed journey that gives way to “If You Don't Think Like Us”. 
We really like it, even more so if it is accompanied by an elegant vocoder and enigmatic strings. Lastly, we arrive at “Powers That Be”, the closing track of the album, where we can perceive a cut of aggressive bass lines and gloomy textures, well aligned with well-chosen robotic vocals.

Manao - Definicion Cero EP [No Static Automatic // NSA006]

Maracaibo born, Berlin based Manao steps up next for No Static / Automatic with an EP that is deeply personal and built on the foundation of old-school electro inspired, bass-heavy beats. Featuring Dance Trax collaborator Viikatory, it is an expression of Manao’s up to date, upfront and playful take on the electro sound that is at the core output.

While this EP brings full energy for the dance, "Definicion Cero" was born out of a period of change and challenge in Manao’s life. Losing his entire analogue studio to theft just after moving to Berlin, this music comes out of a period of upheaval and loss resulting in a creative reset. Starting again from zero and nothing but a Macbook Pro to create on, this number is also seen as a symbol of infinite potential and opportunity to lay new foundations. "Definicion Cero" is the opening of a new chapter for Manao and life as an artist in Berlin.

Opener ‘Automata’ brings in a classic UK techno bass flavour - driving forward with its off kilter rhythm with a whirling melody line. Mechanical stomper ‘Definicion’ follows, driving with a four four beat and distorted vocal and sinister undertones. On the B side ‘Neblina’ plays with big bouncy bass, and the EP is closed with a super-charged collaboration with Belarusian producer Viikatory. X07 is a no-nonsense, well crafted electro power move and perfect ending to this highly charged release.

We're excited to unveil our latest digital release on the Meta Moto platform. Poladroïd, originating from Belgium, the featured producer is renowned for blending electro and IDM with a fierce energy, notably showcased on labels like Science Cult and his own Roulette Rekordz. However, Poladoïd offers a departure from his usual style with this release, which feels like a spiritual successor to his previous work "Eurosiberie" on Detriti.

Drenched in dense, filtered atmospheres and infused with nostalgic echoes of a bygone era, 'Danse Macabre' exudes a dark and gritty ambiance, straddling the realms of retro-futurism and melancholic machine melodies. Drawing inspiration from a spectrum as wide as Holderlin's 'Hyperion' and the poetic works of Robert Brasillach and Charles Baudelaire, 'Danse Macabre' showcases Poladroid's versatility in crafting diverse sonic landscapes while maintaining a signature sound.

These are challenging times in the middle east. As the situation in Gaza gets worse daily, we are committed to doing what we can to end this conflict, and provide aid to the residents of Gaza, as well as all Palestinians in the west bank.

All proceeds from Confused Machines' digital sales will go directly to Physicians For Human Rights – Israel (PHRI) www.phr.org.il, which continues its medical work and humanitarian aid in the West Bank despite the difficult circumstances.

Since October 2023, PHRI has doubled its activity in the West Bank and is sending two weekly mobile clinic visits to help communities that are cut off from medical treatment due to the severe wave of settler and military violence, movement restrictions, and the financial crisis in the West Bank.

PHRI is currently unable to operate in Gaza due to restrictions by the Israeli authorities, and have been barred from delivering aid to the strip. PHRI is constantly working to resume these activities and will do so as soon as the circumstances allow.

We urge for an immediate ceasefire, the return of all hostages, and a peaceful future for all inhabitants of this troubled land.

Data Desire Disorder is Roberto Auser's upcoming EP on the Dalmata Daniel label, part of their lathe-cut series.

This four-track EP showcases Auser's deep engagement with analog sound, blending noir, industrial, minimal synth, dark wave, and electro influences. Created largely during the lockdown era, it features vintage hardware and modular synths, crafting a sound that is both raw and meticulously detailed.

Data Desire Disorder continues Auser's exploration into dark, atmospheric soundscapes, offering a blend of cinematic tension and rhythmic pulse.

It will be available as a limited edition 8-inch record and digitally. The physical release will feature a risograph-printed cover, in line with Studio Jetski's aesthetic.
