Presenting ‘Lotus Island EP’ by Forest on Stasys, a record that seamlessly weaves through the tapestry of the deep techno landscape. We kick off with the title track, ‘Lotus Island,’ a hypnotic journey characterised by rolling percussion and menacing synths. Feral then adds his reconstruction, plunging the listener into a dark, swampy realm, reimagining the original with his unique signature sound.

Next up is ‘Torre De Alquimia,’ a spacious, haunting track that rolls through techno terrains with an enigmatic allure, evoking a sense of mystery and suspense throughout. Closing the EP is ‘Prism of Nature,’ a brighter, melodic workout that serves as a serene conclusion to this wonderfully deep record.

»sleepstep« is the first collaboration between raster-noton and dasha rush. the record‘s subtitle »sonar poems for my sleepless friends« describes its underlying concept – »sleepstep« is a trip through electronically alienated microcompositions and sound collages that, interwoven with text passages, aim at creating a dream-like atmosphere.

the stations of this journey are striving for oblivion of time, an immersion, a drifting in universal states – death, life, birth, grief, desire. the titles often appear to be raw sketches, fugitive, surreal short stories that rather want to break open than execute.

the musical arrangement, in this context, can be described as rather subtle and fragile. though electronically manipulated, no production technique is pushing itself to the fore. and though clichés are not dreaded, »sleepstep«, as a result, stays away from being cliché. the sonar poems for her sleepless friends are feminine, subtle and personal reports. a musical dream journey in the form of a classical concept record – an album that also stands in the tradition of ambient music.

dasha rush is already known as a techno dj and producer. here on »sleepstep«, she celebrates her alter ego. the cd version comes with a 32-pages booklet that also shows her photographic interest and includes the aforementioned poems written by her. furthermore there is 2 x 12" vinyl version.

A second outing by French modular enthusiasts Atomic moog (@atomic-moog) on the Delsin Cameron series. On Blue Scale they present four more works of their quirky noodle experiments. It represents their irresistible grooves in optima forma, while keeping it wonky and alive. 'Blue Scale' and 'Landing Point' got that steady and never ending after-hours flow while 'Data 100f' and 'Impulse' are mesmerizing deep dives exploring a more broken side of the pair.

Spiralling endlessly, Saku Niamh’s angular, edgy beat science makes a perfect match for our 57th outing. Setting off with a nod to golden-era intelligent drum and bass on “soul talk”, piling up the angst on the quasi-industrial hammering of “sick”, and pushing out lysergic, IDM-techno hybrids on “circling” and “melting”. Niamh’s music hints its origins in deeply personal plights through buzzing, sharp sound design, fantastically rounded off with the lethargy of an aptly titled “peace in me”.

ADILR - PEARLROSE (FREE DL)

The Milan-based duo - Orion - consisting of Simone Baratta and Nicolò Chenet is about to end their glorious year on a high note. After releasing their first two EP’s on their eponymous label, in addition to releasing on Molly’s Récit de Voyage imprint, and making mixes for channels including Smoke Machine and The Memoir, the duo has just released ‘The Night Rider’ EP on Orion Records. The release is a bit dubbier than the first two EP’s on the label -- resounding reminiscence of Donato Dozzy’s techno. 
Delayed is proud to premiere the A1 track: Porsche Panorama. In addition to a thick bassline,
the dub techno roller starts out with an ethereal looped pad and lends itself into an atmospheric soundscape. A sturdy kick then punches around the thirty second mark before the vocal, sampled from Bob Sinclar and Eddie Amador’s “Do It”, starts and continues throughout the track. Rhythmic high hats give the track a very dancy feel, making it perfect for playing out. At around the one-third mark, huge bass stabs start coming in and out right before the vocal comes back in, giving the feel of immense drops. The bell curve shaped track comes back down in the last thirty seconds, with the ambience of the pad continuing as the bassline sustains and tapers off. 
‘The Night Rider’ EP is set to be released on vinyl on December 16, 2019. In the meantime while our records get shipped out, we can all groove with this.

The dedicated goal of this charity V/A is both to document this very special time in our lives and serve as a means of solidarity when most of us out there are struggling to make a living. Content wise, and true to the essence of our vision as a label, the music mainly spans the techno and ambient spectrums, with original content. 50% of the benefits from the sales will go to the involved artists, whilst the remaining 50% will be donated to Sea-Watch - a German NGO that rescues migrants in the Mediterranean, notably by commissioning rescue ships.
