Parisian label [re]sources returns with the third edition of its "Club Hexagon" series dedicated to showcase the current French club / bass scene. Gathering several in-house artists such as Dehousy and Blâme, the compilation features some established French producers like Flore, rRoxymore and Ténèbre but also some newcomers, confirming [re]sources' key role in the development of the club music landscape in France.

Nothing seemed to start today; from lifting his head off the pillow to tricking his mind into thinking the day ahead would actually be productive. Going back to bed felt like the only feasible option; the only way to erase these thoughts and start back at square one. Sometimes shutting off from the world before rejoining was all that was needed to set the wheels in motion again.

Following their first foray into releasing a full EP, London-based non-profit label Shubzin get back to basics with the fourth instalment of their VA charity compilation series. This time they've invited 14 new producers to contribute original tracks that range from jungle to leftfield bass and experimental — and, as always, it's for a very good cause.

After raising money for several different charities through their previous comps, they now focus their support on Sisters Uncut, a charity who challenges gendered violence and government cuts to social and community services, and who were instrumental in leading the Kill the Bill marches against new draconian changes to policing and prison laws.

Banoffee Pies Records, in its eighth year of operating, hit the 20th release milestone in their Original Series. Joining the roster, Cairo based producer Hassan Abou Alam steps up with a 4 track solo EP entitled “Fasla”. A decisive selection of attitude packed wormhole bass lines and dark basement jams.

The A side was produced in a special collaboration with local artist SHBL-LBSH who’s vocal works feature across “Kesibt” + “Fasla”. The B side delivers sharp cutting synth lines in “Mawkif” and breakneck low end rumbles in “Hanshoof”. After a series of works on the likes of Naive, Not For Profit and Rhythm Section, Hassan fittingly joins the Berlin based, Bristol born label with more boundless sounds that slice through the fabric of styles that BPR have fostered since inception. For our second release we welcome London based Eyeza to the label. The DJ and Producer, who also runs the Basilica imprint delivers a heavy three track EP, showcasing his versatile reflection of the contemporary club sound. „Exist Physically“ opens with a pressure building drum pattern, shooting kicks and spacious claps, promising complete shutdown, while „IATTOB“ continues with a percussive thriving, undermined by a dark, yet lively tension enriched by hypnotic vocal chops. „Off a Pill“ follows its forgone energy and dives even deeper into a rhythmic and gritty hybrid soundscape to perfectly round up this journey at the verge of raw, grime-infused UK Techno, guaranteed to turn every dance floor into an ecstatic experience. Manchester producer Monir specialises in soundscapes with chest-rattling subs and chin-scratching production displays. While his style is not genre bound, it is akin to fellow Mancunian Walton and is heavily influenced by UK labels Livity Sound, Hessle and Timedance, to name a few.

His MELD EP ‘Still Running’ is an ode to UK Dubstep and heavily features archetypal sounds used in seminal tracks of that era. This is cleverly intertwined through his use of sampling in the title track, as a reference to the UK Dubstep aesthetic that’s still running through much of UK Techno to this day.
