The Swiss label presents the first part of their 21st release, which sees music from the Austrian sensations RoyGreen & Protone.

Lastly, Folded incorporates a mean, junglisitic groove and some sharp bass runs to contribute to a piece which is moody, energising and electronic. The groove rises out of the ether, colliding with a ticking drum line and flashy electro samples, before the bass drops back in, rising and falling like some deadly ocean current.

Few people have pushed the boundaries of breakbeat driven music further than Jim Coles in recent years. Formerly a Hip-Hop DJ and producer 2Tall, Coles shook off this alias around the turn of the last decade and began growing into his current incarnation as Om Unit. During this time he adopted briefly adopted another guise as Phillip D Kick, going on to use that moniker to cross-pollinate Chicago Footwork with Jungle - in doing so helping to develop the so-called 'slowfast' style that has since become his calling card. A fan of DnB since his youth, Coles was delighted when his work at higher tempos was eventually recognised by none other than Goldie - who enlisted him to drop last year's 'Sleepwalkers' three  tracker on his iconic Metalheadz imprint. 

That EP is now followed a year later by 'Inversion' an 8 Track mini album that finds Coles straddling all of the tropes of modern Drum and Bass that he himself has helped establish, whilst giving a healthy nod to the genre's traditions as defined by 'Headz. For his part Coles says he's, "..truly blessed to be able to put this project together and to be welcomed into the fold so readily". Before the record drops in full next Monday 17th November, we've got 'Parallel' for you to listen to in full below. A sullen amen driven stepper, it comes heavy with all the oomph of classic Headz thanks to stabs of scuzzily distorted Reese bassline that gut punches from the low end.

Temptations : A soulful cinematic intro of sci-fi movie pads and synths enriched with vocal ambience lulls you into a false sense of security, slipping seamlessly into filthy but laboratory clean drop.

Techy and punchy with intense reverb closures, Temptations has a somewhat house / techno style approach whilst retaining Break's trademark percussion switches and tidy DnB edits.

Right Now : Almost an opposite approach to Temptations, Right Now is a dirty jungle rinse out. Featuring crazy but delicious beat edits this track has the feel of a '96 Junglist party tune, but with filthy low and fizzy bass keeping it up to date. The euphoric blissed out middle breakdown reminisces times of a bygone era. Classic vibes with a modern twist.

Skankandbass is dedicated towards the official promotion of record labels and artists in the world of drum & bass music. Since inception in 2010, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. Now, six years in to the game, Skankandbass decides to take on the role of a record label to put together a series of free download singles which aims to further help spread the work of the best unsigned, newcomer artists who deserve more recognition. 

SNB003 comes from relatively unknown Nottingham based talent, Noble aka Adam Widdowson. Noble first got into music when he was 16, always having had an ear and interest for the more fresh and cutting sounds of the underground. Nottingham's bass music scene influenced Noble hugely and he became a DJ, mainly playing around the city at house parties and small local nights. 

He took up production around 4 years ago when Dubstep was at its peak and has since dabbled with different genres of bass music, before finding and defining his current sound in Drum & Bass and establishing Noble. Follow him on socials below to keep up to date with his latest productions.

The forthcoming LP from Delta9 Recordings presents everything the label has endeavoured to construct since they first began releasing music. Based between two of Europe’s most creative hubs, the label has stretched its roots from Berlin and Bergamo, in Italy, to draw out a host of inspirations. It’s dark, minimalistic and techstep sounds have filtered across subs within their biggest club spaces, helping to promote the drum & bass culture in Northern Italy and demonstrating its contribution to the worldwide scene. From its very beginning stooped in the culture of free parties and small venues, up until its fiftieth release, Delta9 Recordings have continued to push the boundaries since their inception in 2012. The natural evolution can be seen throughout their back catalogue of music as well as their live events, which have hosted several Italian and international artists from the harshest realms of drum & bass. And the LP which benchmarks a phenomenal number of releases channels the exact same ethos.

The album highlights both already renowned international artists on top of the artists which Delta9 will be working with in the future. As well as the already notoriously fierce music Delta9 releases, they also branch out into the liquid subgenre, which helps to diversify the music given a platform through the 50th benchmark. A host of talented newcomers and critically acclaimed artists stand out across the track listing.

Beginning the LP is ‘Neurotic’, which sees Flipz MC, Logics and Kodin take centre stage. Invadhertz brings LaMeduza on board for ‘Bullet’. SL8R offers up ‘Totum’ whilst Logics and Kodin return again, although this time for the remix of their track ‘Extrema Ratio Remix’ by Dabs. Disprove’s ‘Relative’, Akrom’s ‘Feelings’, Instinkt’s ‘Ultra’ and Ephyum’s ‘Numinous’ all deliver a harder edge. Freqax, Kaiza and Kryptomedic join forces on ‘Bolt’ and SD’s ‘Ice Cubes’ adds a cooler touch. Meanwhile, Synth Ethics’ ‘Flash Crash’, Neve, Frame & Skip’s ‘Say Now’, Stoner & Dottor Poison’s ‘Circus V’ and Underspawn’s ‘Gripped In’ only add to the multi-faceted subgenre styles. And Rafiki & Draize’s ‘Surface Tension’, D Flect’s ‘Sarasvati’, Sentic Cycle’s ‘Juno’, Jazzatron’s ‘Cheap Chip’ and Echonic & Nova D9’s ‘Stack’ further solidify just how far ranging Delta9 Recordings scope really is. All in all, it’s one almighty package. And Delta9 Recordings wanted to deliver exactly this for their 50th release.

The 'Pictures of Silence' LP spans a weighty number of tracks, with each demonstrating the echelons of engineering which Nymfo is capable of.

Whilst never trying to fit a commercial paradigm and instead paying reverence to the roots of a genre which has become of dance music's biggest exports, Nymfo has yet again set the bar high across an entire album.

Ben Soundscape - one half of The Insiders - is the latest addition to the Innerground family with this dominant two-track single featuring tracks "Till 6am" & "Level Up" featuring MC Fokus.

"Till 6am" kicks things off with a tough break and accompanying bassline after the drop. With somewhat of a split personality, "Till 6am" blends the dark and forceful bass with a plethora of deft touches in the background giving it a dreamy feel aided by some well-placed piano riffs before the breakdown.

"Level Up" features MC Fokus on the lyrical duties and what a combination. From a subtle yet "fokussed" intro, we dive into a divine wobble that speaks to the Moving Shadow on GTA era and lifts the entire piece to something of a monster. Barking bass and tight percussion make this an instant dancefloor smasher.
