■概要(Overview)
ある日、彼女はルーレットを回しました。
自分の運命は自分で決める。そう、それは運命のルーレットです。

「いつ崩壊するかわからない、砂のお城に住むのは嫌。」
「まずは山を買おう！そしてタケノコを育てて本物のお城を買うの！」

たちまち努力は実を結び、全て彼女の計画通りに進みます。
そんなある日、いつものように彼女は収穫したタケノコを売るために街を目指します。
しかし、一つのタケノコを落としてしまい、コロコロと湖に落ちていきます。
「ああ、完璧だった私の計画が崩壊していく・・」
・・・・・・・・・・・・
そんな感じの曲です。
説明が長い！くどい！・・なにはともあれ、新曲です。
Vocalサンプルも少し入れていて、英語がわからない私が聴くと「Down Down Takenoko」と聞こえたので、このタイトルになっています。

またいつものように即興ギターを組み合わせて無理やり曲にしました。
エレアコを修理して、DIも買って、ご機嫌でギターを弾きました・・ほかの音に埋もれたけど(^^)

■Overview
One day she spun the roulette wheel.
She decides her own destiny. Yes, it's the roulette of fate.

"I don't want to live in a sand castle, not knowing when it will collapse."
"First, let's buy a mountain! Then we'll grow bamboo shoots and buy a real castle!"

Soon her efforts bear fruit and everything goes according to her plan.
One day, as usual, she heads to town to sell the bamboo shoots she has harvested.
However, she drops a bamboo shoot and it falls into the lake.
"Ah, my perfect plan is falling apart..."

It's a song like that.
Long explanation! Tired! ...Anyway, it's a new song.
It also includes a few vocal samples, and when I listened to it even though I don't understand English, it sounded like "Down Down Takenoko," hence the title.

Also, as usual, I combined it with improvised guitar and forced it into a song.
I repaired the electric acoustic guitar, bought a DI, and played the guitar in a good mood...although it was buried in other sounds (^^)
Long explanation! Tired! Yes, sorry. that's all.

Rather than realizing the rules after you're about to be thrown out by centrifugal force.
Anyway, I wanted to see the outcome of the roulette wheel I spun myself.


Even after ten years have passed since then, it still keeps going.

A different approach for this one, no modular just audio samples and instrument and effect plugins. Mainly because I wanted to see what I could do with the Stochas probabilistic sequencer. https://stochas.org I also had some other effects and instruments that I wanted to give a proper outing.

This is an album about black stars casting shadows on the present. Just like we can’t see if a dead star a million lightyears away is already dead, we can’t see if the future we have set our sights on actually exists. Becoming an artist and taking the risk associated with such a ludicrous, inadvisable and uneconomic „Lebensentwurf“ makes you constantly question your life’s choices and consider other paths you could have gone. But therein also lies the beauty and the greatest power of the artist. The pondering of eventualities is as important to successful art as any muse or idol. At least for me. The never-ending melancholy, the fear of failure and the boundless joy experienced during the creative process provide the artist with a new color for every day and a new melody for every night. Most of the time it is hard to separate the joy from sadness and the hope from despair. 

I worked on this album for the past 18 months and I have never made something that is such a concrete manifestation of my state of mind and a portrayal of my way of life. And while this is my darkest album since ‚Sondersensor‘, I also wanted it to be accessible and easy to dance to. This is a portrait of the artist as a young man and the backdrop is the urban dreamscape of a city that is eerily similar to the one I live in. The sound is dirty, urban and melancholic – the beats are simple and the textures are rich. In a way, this is the album I have always wanted to make. A culmination of the intensities and moods of the past two years. These moods will never disappear from my music but here they distilled to their clearest expression yet.
