MACABRE II for string orchestra

I was born in Athens, and grew up in Santorini. I am currently a graduate student at the Graduate Program of Clinical Psychology (MSc) at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. I have studied Psychology (BA) at the same university, and in December 2017 I graduated as a valedictorian, getting an honors degree. For having the best score at the Panhellenic Examinations, in my Department, I was granted a full scholarship by the Hellenic American Union, in order to study Music Theory and Composition at the Hellenic American College, with prof. Theodore Antoniou. I also studied piano performance at the National Conservatory of Athens, with prof. Savvas Zafeiropoulos. I graduated last January, gaining the Piano Diploma (Unanimously “Excellent” and 1st Prize). I am academically interested in Freudian and structural (Lacanian) psychoanalysis. In specific, I am interested in the interference of the unconscious and desire in musical performance and creation, and in the depiction of various psychoanalytic principles via the music symbolic. I have taken part in academic lectures with speeches regarding the Oedipus complex and the problematics of the unconscious desire and “jouissance” in the works of Sergei Rachmaninoff and in “The Rite of Spring” by Igor Stravinsky.For my academic achievements, I have been honored with the “Pantia Ralli Scholarship” by the University of Athens and with the “President’s Award for Academic Achievement” by the Hellenic American College. 
I am simultaneously a Lacanian Psychoanalysis trainee at the Athenian Forum of the School of the Lacanian Field (IF-EPFCL).

Experimental music that ranges feral beyond constraints. 

The music covers a lot of non-genres. Multiple resonances include Dark/Ambient, Psych, Doom, Drone, Noise Rock, Kosmische, EDM, Trapwave, and Romantic Era and Post-Romantic, with special nods to the bands Swans, Earth, Caspar Brotzman Massaker, Godspeed You Black Emperor. Dystopian Inspirational for noble outlaws.

Electric guitar, bass, drum kit, lap steel slide and electrified dulcimers played with a violin bow, bodhrán, Peruvian triangle drum, snare drum, silver flute, double shepherd's flute, regular duclimers, spring reverb tank, suling, jaw harp, pungi, khaen, melodica, harmonica, broken cymbal, double wind wand, recorder, boatswain's pipe, penny whistle, slide whistle, MIDI controller to trigger computer's internal synth, voice, found objects, electric tennis racket...

My name is Rosemary Bensko, and SA is my artist name. While most songs are just me, and I do all the production, when other contributors are involved, they become part of the band for those songs.

Collaborators who contribute a stem to a track or were involved in a jam are always credited: XAW, Igor Iofe, Chris Nolte,Tom McCarthy of TM's Sundae Sauce, Steve Gilmartin, Psychedelic Mayhem, The Fall of Saigon, A.J. Kaufmann, with remixes by The Infinite Wimshurst. There are also joint ventures and SA playing and singing on other people's music.
