Stelios Vassiloudis is a multifaceted composer, producer and DJ hailing from Athens, Greece. Active in the electronic music since the early 2000s, he has cultivated a sound of his own - one that reflects his rich and diverse musical background, transcending the dance floor via an emotional narrative of complex soundscapes, intricate harmonies and hypnotic rhythms. Classically trained, with a Bachelor’s degree in acoustical engineering and a Master’s degree in composition and arrangement, Stelios carved his path in electronic music by traversing the globe as a DJ and live performer - performing at i ntimate underground clubs in Beirut, festivals in Miami, afterhours in Tokyo, beaches in Goa and mega clubs in Argentina. His studio prowess and coveted productions cemented his reputation as a versatile and acclaimed artist, as he developed a formidable discography on esteemed labels such as Bedrock, Poker Flat, Ovum, Constant Sound, Darkroom Dubs and Balance, among others. Now, entering a new phase of his career, Stelios prepares to unveil his sophomore album, a collection of works that marks a departure from the narrow confines of clubmusic and represents the essence of what he’s all about – an album that mergesthe limitless possibilities of electronic music, his formidable training in composition and his diverse influences. Ten years on from the release of his debut LP, his detail oriented offerings remain incomprehensibly thought-provoking and thorough. Both emotive and technically astute, the creative intuition packed into All Else Fails is almost difficult to fathom - a balanced compilation of grand compositions, paired with subtle, nuanced pieces that is set to engage and entice audiences across an altogether broader spectrum. Our first artist, fresh off the back of an LNOE EP, is always pushing the envelope on what we would describe as underground dance music. Throw your expectations away, get with this program, and make some noise for Ben Watkins, AKA Robots With No Soul! 

Don't be fooled by robotic motifs – Robots With No Soul is an electronic battle cry for authenticity. The British techno renegade is driven by a pit-of-the- stomach feeling. There is no boxing, packaging or mass-producing of his off- kilter drum beats, raging basslines and emotive melodies.  Rejecting mechanical, copy-and-paste culture for something far deeper, his music is a personal exploration into the possibilities of sound...

Robots With No Soul quickly caught the attention of modern techno's most distinctive duo, Dense & Pika. After joining their roster to play the Watergate Berlin main room, Ben released his debut album “Rose” album on their acclaimed Kneaded Pains label in 2020. 

The release of "Sedonda Circle" on Sasha's LNOE imprint last year, further elevated Ben's profile.

Chris Fortier delivered one of the more interesting Balance compilations when he dropped compilation number 7 in the series. It was 3 CDs deep and filled with the sort of moody, tech-filled music which on first listen was bewildering, yet strangely alluring. It featured many artists at the early stage of their careers (Mathew Jonson and Alex Smoke come to mind), and showed that there was more to the progressive house sound which was so prevalent back then: It even received a strong 4.5/5 on Resident Advisor. Indeed, the Fade Recordings owner's keen ear for a great underground track, and his eagerness to do some decent crate digging were on full display. Then again, Chris Fortier is a true professional who have traveled the world playing at the best venues and events. He has tasted success in the club and and in the studio: Fortier’s remix of Delerium's "Silence", was the first and original remix and sold in excess of one million copies worldwide, and he has one full length album to his name, "As Long As The Moment Exists”. In 2005 Chris Fortier compiled his acclaimed Balance compilation - and 11 years later we welcome back the American selector for a very smooth Balance Selections podcast...
