Hello Everyone! It's Wednesday, time to strap yourselves in for another Exclusive PFG Progcast. The afterburners are lit, set your phasers to FUN... ready for another blast around Planet Prog!

This week were headed for love in London! Home to a multi talented heroine of house music, our act today has made music her life and passion. Singer/Songwriter, Producer, Performing Arts and DJ! We are delighted to have secured her services, give it up for Ann LoV

Ann LoV is a London based techno producer DJ and singer. Her primary focus are poignant melodies as demonstrated in her track selection, and forthcoming productions. Ann has a strong background in vocals and has released under the names 'Ann Browne' & 'Ann - Jattu' on Synchronized Music, DP-6 Records and Tall House Digital. 

Ann developed a passion and deep love for music early on in life. At the age of 9 she began to write her own songs and learnt to craft harmonies by experimenting with recording her voice using tape recorders and layering her vocals to see how they’d sound. In 1999 Ann decided to take a deeper dive into music and went on to study performing arts, during which time she spent much of her evenings in the music block learning production and writing her EP — a collection of Pop, R&B, and Ambient music. Off the back of her creations, she took part in a number of local festivals and showcases and later joined a Hip Hop collective where she continued to develop her vocals and song writing skills. Then in 2001 she had her first release on a gospel record label, which led to her joining a band where she continued to tour nationally and internationally as well as provide vocals for studio and live sessions.

It was in 2009 that her musical career pivoted towards electronic music, and at that point she began reaching out to music producers in the genre. This led to her creating a vocal sample pack with Lee Howe, house releases with Jake Cusack and Paul Parsons, EDM with K-System, and trance releases with Beatsole and Emrah Barut.

In a bid to further immerse herself in the electronic music world she had grown so fond of, she began to form connections with music lovers, organised club nights with UK Trance Society, managed a number of meetups, and attended myriad music events.

By 2016 Ann had started to miss the live element of music and wanted to perform electronic music live which led to the birth of “Anencee". Performing live once again and delving back into the world of music creation inspired her to make the decision to return to music production as a solo artist, it was then that she added the art of DJing to her repertoire. 
 
In 2019 Ann secured a DJ residency at the illustrious Saturo Sounds Radio, she shortly after appeared as a guest on Christian Monique's  'Seventeen' show [Frisky Radio] and also Erich Von Kollar's show 'Relations' [Proton Radio)] under her former name 'With LoV'. 
 
In December 2020 'Paradox' was released on Saturo Sounds - this was her first international solo release as a producer.  
 
Passionate about fairness for music creators, she continues to develop her knowledge in the realm of music business with a view to set up her own label, release music and perform her productions live - this is her motivation, her dream, her drive, her focus. ENJOY THE MIX!

PFG The Progcast - Episode 64 - Ann LoV

Hello everyone and welcome onboard our Exclusive Weekly Progcast, delivering only the tastiest cuts and finest fillets from around the world of Planet Prog!

Today our journeys see us head north and over the border, back to Scotland. A popular stop over on our whistle stop tour, this is PFG's 4th visit here, and much like the others we've discovered another hidden gem for your listening pleasure. Martin Sloan AKA (The Big Easy) is one of AATM founding members & also one of the longest serving DJ’s on this ever growing station. You can catch him playing marathon 10 hour shows most weekends alongside the cream of Scotlands DJ talent. Although only DJ'ing for a couple of years, Martin's rise has taken his (and anyone whose heard him play)breath away. This summer see's him make his debut for the well known MITA (Music Is The Answer)where he'll be putting those skills acquired through listening to Pappa, Sasha and Warren, to good use.

 At MITA,  he's scheduled to DJ along side the world renowned Guy J, Guy Mantzur and DJ Ruby no less. As well as that this year see’s gigs in Amsterdam, Ibiza and more in his beloved Scotland. We are half way round the world in no time at all, making a much needed return to India. So impressed were we on our previous adventures, PFG are back for more, in the first of two trips to this beautiful continent. 

Todays artist is in the form of his life right now, and its with huge relief that we  had him booked in for some time! Ladies & Gents, Give it up for Weird Sounding Dude!

Weird Sounding Dude is a Bangalore based music producer/DJ. He has always enjoyed a place in the underground dance music culture. His trademark chuggy grooves and squelchy rhythms are sure to satisfy his audience but there are always a few surprises along the way.

As it happens with a lot of artists, only DJ’ing wasn’t enough for his musical expedition, so he embarked on a journey to prove his worth as a self-taught producer. Drawing his influences from the likes of James Holden, Extrawelt, Nathan Flake, and Worakls. Being a regular on the charts of Beatport, his music has gained continuous support from the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Cid Inc., Nick Warren, Guy Mantzur, Guy J, Nick Muir, and many more.

He has already made a mark in the underground circuit with releases on Sudbeat, The Soundgarden, Kindisch, Plattenbank, Perspectives Digital, onedotsixtwo, Juicebox Music, Eat My Hat Music, Balkan Connection, 3rd Avenue, Tarnished Tracks, If You Wait Music, Strangers Beats, Strange Town Recordings, Stripped Recordings among many others. Well-known blogs Progressive Astronaut, Change Underground, Underground Tel-Aviv, When We Dip, Nie Wieder Schlafen, Melodic Deep Bespoke Music, Husa Sounds have shown regular interest in his tracks.

He has also made a mark on the DJ circuit by performing at music festivals like Sunburn, R.E.S.E.T., La Foresta (Sri Lanka), Ctrl Alt Dance, Krank, Locals District. 
He’s had the privilege to perform alongside the likes of Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger, Stan Kolev, Jimpster, Vaal, Dauwd, BOg, Ziger, Navar, Kastis Torrau. He was also nominated under the Techno category for MyFav Awards (2014-15).

It’s safe to say that this “Dude” in particular isn’t just another kid on the block. His voyage has slowly started to take shape with no intention of slowing down.

PFG The Progcast - Episode 66 - Weird Sounding Dude

Hello Everyone, its time for another Exclusive PFG Progcast! Join us on our journeys around Planet Prog, searching for serious sonic sounds!

We take a trip over the Laccadive Sea today, as we head south and back to Colombo in Sri Lanka. On our last visit we were treated to a gem of a mix, and this week's return is no different. Pioneering a new wave of Underground DJ's and Artists, PFG are proud to present Shanil Alox!

Born in Colombo, Shanil Alox’s musical journey began at a very young age. His interest in music and production prompted him to learn deeper and find new genres, which resulted in the birth of his career as a young producer and DJ.
His talent and enthusiasm towards music soon began mesmerising crowds, where he gained popularity with his energetic performances across the island at many clubs, festivals and parties. His modern techniques in music inspired immense motivation in people to connect to music, aiming to take them on an emotional journey spreading positive energy throughout the community.

It was in the year 2014 that Shanil began his profession in music production,  since then he has progressively improved in music production through exploration of knowledge and mastering latest technology. His music is well known to captivate listeners who attend his performances.

He has also played gigs alongside George Privatti, Luigi Rocca, Matt Sassari, Kastis Torrau and Matan Caspi, and has collaborated and performed with renowned organisations around the island.

Shanil is a self-motivated, professional musician who endures to attempt in order to keep growing as a dynamic artist, while simultaneously expending great efforts to develop a unique style of Sri Lankan electronic music platform by incorporating tradition and his creativity. He intends to spread positive energy, peace and calmness to admirers of various genres of music.

He is one of the biggest exponents of the Progressive House music scene in his homeland, and it is without doubt a massive honour for us to have him aboard. Ladies & Gents... Alex Efe!

The global electronic scene has generated a generation of Artists with identity, Alex Efe is in that category. He is a DJ/Producer in constant growth and always consolidating his recognition. His musical influences within Rock, Synth Pop & Wave have led him to create a characteristic sound, in addition to transmitting this sound in every session he plays. Its his experience and musical knowledge which the dance floor also appreciates. His music has been released on labels like Electronic Groove, Faraway Scope, Transensations Records, Melodic Beats, Box4Joy, Droid 9, SLC-6 Music, AH Digital, Ekabeats Music, Nube Music, BBR Records, Nube Music., With the support of many important players like Hernán Cattaneo, Sahar Z, Emi Galvan, Cream, Ricky Ryan, Nishan Lee, Baunder, Mariano Mellino, Darin Epsilon, Simply City, Nick Warren, Ezequiel Arias, Marcelo Vasami, Fernando Goraieb, Lucas Rossi, among others. Daedelus LIVE Set in the Boiler Room

Two years ago I was searching to find my musical sound.. Looking everywhere I knew to find the DEEP, driving, progressive sound that spoke to my soul... While previewing music one day in my headphones at work on 5 story scaffolding, I found it... A track called She Down... The sounds were something I had never heard before but something that resonated to my core.. I found myself dancing like a fool while working 5 stories above the pavement.. I couldn't help myself.. The music was just too damn good.. I knew at that moment my musical life would never be the same.. The producer I had found goes by the name of Stanisha... The music, the vibe, the soul, the intention in this music is in perfect harmony with my being.. This music, is my soul in sound... 

In a long over due mix, I have put together some of the most incredible fresh music in a mix I recorded on my Terminal Mix 4, no monitors, just headphones.. No post editing.. Just Feeling the music... If you are not familiar with Stanisha, hopefully you will now be.. Please enjoy this incredible music from half the world away..

This week we are back in Brazil, and our second visit finds us searching for new, raw DJ talent that PFG have always been looking for. A group member found him commenting away on a recent live stream and invited him into the group, fast forward a few months, we're extremely proud to give him the stage his talents deserve. Crew, give it up... for M. Beltrame!!

I'm Matheus, a 24-year-old DJ from Curitiba, a southern city between São Paulo (the epicentre of the electronic music scene in Brazil) and Itajaí, where Warung (The Temple) sits. Curitiba has also held great events throughout the year: Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha & John Digweed, Guy Mantzur, Lee Burridge, Lost Desert and many others have played here.

This love I have now for electronic music started in my teenage days, but actually with Hip-Hop. When in middle school, Hip-Hop was my thing, but because I didn't really understand what was being said, the sonority of the beats combined with the rapper's flow was what really got my attention. A couple of years later, Dubstep came along. It was my initiation into electronic music (I swear it sounded cool at the time).

A few years later, a cheap, commercially-orientated deep house genre began to rise in our scene, that was called "Brazilian bass". I loved it. That powerful, leading bass that I had in Hip-Hop and Trap, missing in Dubstep, was back. I guess that was around 2014. That was also really danceable, which I loved. Expressing myself with the body, listening to cool music and having fun with friends was a big, instant positive for me.

Fast forward a few years to 2017 I finally had contact with high level electronic music. It was during the Warung Day Festival, which happens every year in my hometown. When my ears heard Stephan Bodzin for the first time, I was shocked. After him, the legend Hernan Cattaneo took to the decks and my musical taste was changed forever. Progressive House quickly became my favourite genre.

My DJing experience has only been for fun with my friends in house parties. I learned to play with them (we are all self-taught). Together we form a collective called Showcara Records, you can check out our sounds here

PFG Progcast Episode 21 - M. Beltrame

Crew, welcome to Wednesday and another episode of PFG THE PROGCAST, our weekly wander around the Planet Progressive.

We continue our short break around the British Isles today as we land in another Mecca of the UK's club map. Well known for its hedonistic attitude in the 90's Leeds has produced many a superstar DJ and Producer, and our next act needs little introduction. Blue Amazon is a name that has been associated with quality over the years, with a number of classics including... No Other Love and The Javelin Album, remixes for the likes of Sasha, Skunk Anansie, New Order, Madonna, and  EPs on Pro B Tech Records, Radiate, A Rec, plus collaborations with Alex Flatner and Robert Owens on Kling Klong Records.

His DJ style is very progressive in technical terms as he merges Techno, Progressive, Tech house in his own unique way. He's played worldwide amongst great artist such as Sasha, Digweed, Paul van Dyk , Oliver Lieb, Arjun Vagale, Darren Emerson, Dave Seaman to mention a few. PFG-The Progcast Episode 25 Fraser Dootson (SuperLuminal)

Hello, and welcome back to another Episode of our exclusive weekly Progcast, seeking out and finding the very best DJ's around Planet Prog..

This week see's us cross off not only a new country, but a brand new continent too, and our DJ this week is no stranger to our scene. One of Origin Presents brightest stars, and a great friend to all who know her.... Ladies and Gents, Nadia!!

Scottish born, DJ Nadia grew up in sunny Algeria, where her interest in music started and as she practised her art, she became heavily involved in the local scene. Over the last 15 years, ever since she embarked on her musical journey, she crafted her DJ skills and is no stranger to the Progressive house arena, her style of Djing has been influenced by the legends; Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Nick Warren and Sasha & Digweed to name a few, and brings us unrivalled pure progressive house vibes. 

Nadia has been based in the UK for the last 2 years, playing alongside great names such as Kasper Koman, Budakid, Paul Hazendonk, Alfonso Muchacho, Moshic, GMJ & Matter and Habischman at amazing events run by the likes of Modern Agenda, the Prog Lab & Progressive Astronaut …all of this without forgetting her active contribution to the Algerian local scene. PFG The Progcast - Episode 27 - Nadia

Hello and welcome aboard our weekly journey around Planet Prog, and another exclusive PFG Progcast!

Today we depart for our third new country in a row as our search for the very best music in our scene touches down in Russia. It is with love we are proud to present, exclusively for PFG... Olga Misty!

Olga first discovered her love for electronic music during her later school days, a simple passion that naturally evolved into the foundations for her journey into DJ'ing from 2008. Olga prefers emotional and heart touching music, with the rich & colourful tones of deeper progressive house at the core of her mixes & style. 

Since 2011 Olga has run her own successful Radio show known as "Ocean Planet" which has been broadcast to a loyal & constantly growing audience across the globe on Proton Radio and DI FM. 

For more than 8 years many talented guests have joined the show, including Dmitry Molosh, GMJ, Subandrio, Dimuth K, Erich Von Kollar, Ewan Rill, East Cafe,Yuriy From Russia, LoQuai, Cream, Deep Fog, Robert R. Hardy, Deepsense and many more.
In 2020 Olga's musical reach has widened further with the launch of "Solace" on Frisky Radio, following on from a hugely successful slot on "Artist of the Week". 2020 has seen her come on board as label DJ for Meanwhile Recordings, the new digital label from GMJ & Matter, showcasing the finest in deep and progressive music from around the world. Her Meanwhile mixes are on regular rotation for Proton Radio's Virtua progressive playlist on Spotify.

Olga has performed in many different countries such as her native Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Hungary, Netherlands and Australia.  She's played at major events & venues such as ADE, Burning Man, Warpp club, Meanwhile launch & many more, spreading her signature deep, emotive and driving sound.

PFG The Progcast - Episode 29 - Olga Misty

Hello and welcome back to our weekly exclusive podcast, PFG -The Progcast is about to embark on another supersonic search for the finest Progressive beats.

This week we've landed back in the UK, and a DJ well known on all the local scenes he's played in. With a DJ career spanning over 20 years, it is our great pleasure to introduce to you... DAN HILL!

HiLLY started his DJing career at only 16, playing at parties and weddings. But in 1994 he formed SENSi-TiZE, with 2 mates, producing several big Happy Hardcore Tracks, including Burn Baby Burn which featured on Top 40 albums.

But after the first three SENSi-TIZE releases Dan decided to move away from the Hardcore scene as he was becoming more and more influenced by Dj's such as Jeremy Healey, Greame Park, Judge Jules and Tony De Vit. After a chance meeting with Geoff Hawkins then resident DJ at Central Nightclub in Stamford UK. Geoff become a big supporter in Dan's early DJ career helping him obtain his first residency, called Creation @ Central playing uplifting piano house. This soon progressed to an additional Saturday night at Maddisons in Nuneaton. During this time Dan worked along side such names as Liquid, Ratpack, Isha D, Sam Ellis, Yomanda, K-Klass, Brandon Block and Tony De Vit to name a few. Also within this time he guested several times with Geoff at the Ministry of Sound in London playing at the High Bias records launch night and also playing the Seduction House Weekender.

After these early successes Dan moved to the Isle of Man due to work, thankfully the DJ work continued as he linked up with James Gale (DJ Gid) and the Switched On Crew. The dance scene in the IOM was slightly behind the UK and therefore gave the crew the chance to hold more than half a dozen outdoor dance parties. It was like going back to the early 90's rave days with around a 1000 people partying throughout the night under an erected Marquee in the middle of the Manx countryside, prompting Dan to still say now these were probably the best gigs of his career. Unfortunately it wasn't long before Manx law caught on and put an end to these great nights. The scene continued with Switched On and Paul Aldridge promoting nights at the Cave Nightclub. Dan soon found himself gracing the decks with Ricky Rooney and Gid where they were joined by Dave Seaman, Nick Warren, Matt Hardwick, Graham Gold, Nick Rafferty, Lee Burridge and Anthony Pappa.

While out in the IOM Dan was regularly visiting the UK to work on more material with SENSi-TIZE and they were rewarded for their hard work when they were signed up to Tony De Vit's TDV Label. Unfortunately, Tony's sad death had a huge effect on Dan and SENSi-TiZE's progression.

 Following a short break away from the scene, and the UK, after much discussion Dan decided to reform SENSi-TIZE and was also determined to re-launch his DJ career.
Over the last 2 decades Dan has spun turntables in Australia, Dublin, Isle of Man, Tenerife, Ibiza and back in the UK, playing for brands such as Hed Kandi, Minimal, In 2 Deep, Milwaulkees, Ministry Of Sound, Deep Down, Alfresco and Pushin.

Although now semi-retired from djing, he still has a huge passion for music. He mixes house under his real name Dan Hill, Techno under HiLLY, and still plays the odd hardcore and Trance gig as SENSi-TIZE! ENJOY THE MIX!
