Punk Morvs is the muse, SiBe and Craig the foundation and Chapman is the chaos.
In July 2010 the band was voted best overall band in the Playmusic Pickup magazine unsigned awards.

Fridge Magnets. Winners of the 'Best Electronic Band' at the Electronic Music Maker Awards and 'Best Electronic Act' at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards. The 2 piece electro-indie rockers from Glasgow & Paris have been tipped as ones to watch by The Sun, 4 Music and Amazing Radio. Headed by the charismatic front man Steven Winton, they have already featured on Radio 1's In New Music We Trust Playlist and have supported the likes of Calvin Harris, Japanese Popstars and Burns. They have also had tracks featured on the BBC's Waterloo Road, C4's Sunday Brunch, and 4Music's Spotlight: Ones To Watch.

           After the launch of well received first EP ‘Along the Bottom’ in early 2010, The Rudiments proudly strode on, performing live on a regular basis helping to build up a faithful and ever growing fanbase, not only in their hometown but throughout Scotland and further afield. These gigs inspired them to work towards making their next recording reflect the energy and spirit of the live shows. So as the long, dark winter nights approached the boys got together and agreed to take a break from playing live, batten down the hatches and begin preparations for this record.

 At the end of February 2011, after months of rehearsing and writing, they emerged blinking from their bunker, packed their satchels, gathered their instruments and headed for the tiny village of Crawfordjohn deep in the Scottish countryside. Once there, they embarked on the final part of their mission - To trackdown and possibly (with a little bit of luck!) acquire the services of the mythical, and illusive ‘DOCTOR BONE’...

No-one has heard from or seen The Rudiments since that cold February morning when they set off from Glasgow so full of hopes and dreams, but luckily (well, not for them obviously!) a CD of mixed and mastered songs was found by a lake in the woods near the village.

we're an electro rock duo from glasgow, played some gigs with ladyhawke, goose and a string quartet, in places like an academy live tour and an apple store. we met after a drunk encounter on buchanan street which resulted in a shopping trolly ride and are about to drop our next ep. i think that's about it.


The Dirty Cuts are 4 young miscreants from Glasgow who formed to make music for boys and girls to dance and make out to. They raised a few eyebrows with the launch of their risqué and energy fuelled debut ‘2 Page Spread’ which left Radio One’s own Vic Galloway nothing short of flustered on air. The follow up ‘Yummy Mummy’ (due for release in July 2010 on 17 Seconds) is tipped for great things and is already becoming something of an underground dancefloor hit after receiving a bootleg reworking from none other than the 1990s Dino Bardot.

Self proclaimed as ‘catchier than the clap’ The Dirty Cuts relentless new wave disco tunes work their way into your head and never leave. It’s no surprise the band are finding themselves in demand to play in Glasgow and London’s hippest venues and it can only be a matter of time till their cult following goes global.

Hear Glasgow was set up with the support of the Scottish Arts Council Youth Music Initiative, Glasgow's New Youth Music Forum & aims to bring together every kind of music for young people in the city of Glasgow - from DJing to bagpipes; from toddlers to twenty-somethings.

The Martial Arts are releasing their new album ‘In There Like Swimwear’, on Friday 9 August 2024, on the Where It’s At Is Where You Are label.  It contains the singles, ‘No Victory’, ‘Not Coming Down’, ‘Exploding Crushing Inevitable’ and ‘Friends For Fools’.

The album links the neighboring worlds of power pop / indie pop / classic pop, and would sit comfortably in the collections of Daniel Johnston, XTC, Eno, Of Montreal, The Lemon Twigs or The Apples In Stereo fans.

The Martial Arts is Paul Kelly, who for over 15 years has been a mainstay of the Scottish music scene.   He was a full-time member of BMX Bandits for five years and is a long-time collaborator and bandmate of the SAY Award-nominated artist Carla J Easton (The Vaselines / Poster Paints / TeenCanteen).  He has performed with Raveloe, TeenCanteen, Kim Richey, The Primary 5, Dr. Cosmo’s Tape Lab, How to Swim and The Hector Collectors.  He has been using the name The Martial Arts since 2003.
