Oslo label badabing diskos kicks off with a massive dance floor treat from legendary Norwegian producer diskJokke.

Known since 2008 for his international escapades with Prins Thomas's Full Pupp and the Smalltown Supersounds label, diskJokke has also played everywhere from Panoramabar Berlin to Space Ibiza and Liquid Room Tokyo. He has put out three superb long players, remixed indie acts such as Metronomy and The XX and now, after acquiring his Masters in Mathematics, he is back. He has a complex, weird and wonderful take on melodic and cinematic sounds, as proven by this terrific two-tracker.

Opener 'A Little TnT' wastes no time in locking you in on a wave of retro-future synth work while a squelchy bassline twists and turns below. It's an expansive and widescreen sound packed with the sort of melody that makes Scandi-disco so appealing.

The fantastic '90s' then takes you on a magical trip to the edge of the cosmos, with enchanting synth lines and buoyant drums all building to a crescendo. The mood then flips to acid-tinged disco house with warped lines and late-night menace, making for a truly adventurous track.

This is a terrific first EP from what is sure to be an essential new label.

“Echoes of the Rife Machine” is an AI-crafted ambient journey inspired by the mysterious tonal world of early frequency experiments and the analog hum of Dr. Rife’s pioneering equipment.
Drawing from the aesthetic of sepia-toned laboratories, glowing vacuum tubes, and resonant electromagnetic oscillators, the album reimagines those ideas as a modern soundscape—deep, hypnotic, and vibrationally alive.

Each track transforms frequency concepts into immersive musical textures:
warm drones shaped like old vacuum coils, rhythmic pulses echoing mechanical oscillators, shimmering harmonics reminiscent of early laboratory resonators. The result is a sonic blend of vintage scientific atmosphere and contemporary ambient design, created for listeners who appreciate experimental sound, deep focus states, and evocative audio worlds.

This album does not replicate scientific devices or provide any form of treatment.
It is an artistic interpretation—a sound ritual built from the ghosts of forgotten laboratories and the shimmering frequencies that once filled them.

With previous releases divided into originals and remixes found on vital labels such as Full Pulp, Emerald & Doreen, Tom Tom Disco, Correspondant, Luv Shack, Golden Soul, and Wonder Stories, Norwegian DJ and producer Jarle Bråthen (SXDNS086) forthcoming EP on Full Pulp Ekspress delivers a powerful single: “Clap Your Hands” is the first of two collaborations between Berlin-based artists J.B. and Hard Ton (SXDNS176 as Wawashi Deejay). Backed by four strong remixes made with love by Rotciv (SXDNS069) and Prins Thomas, the release is the perfect example of how Disco can be perfectly paired with Acid. The concoction is dangerously explosive, though, but the result is definitely worth the risk.

We had the privilege of reviewing one of the remixes by Prins Thomas: His distinguishing “Diskomiks”. The prolific Norwegian artist needs no introduction. All we can possibly try to add is saying he is one of those guys that everybody in the business wants to work with. His insightful interpretation of the original is a groovy beast! Hellish as hell, the characteristic disco & cosmic elements of the Oslo-based legend’s sonority are there: The fat bassline, the trippy synth pads, and the smooth acid layer banded flawlessly together with the always impressive Hard Ton’s unique voice. In a year in which we have been constantly told to wash/disinfect our hands, it’s time to clap them! And hard! The release is one of the best of the infamous 2020, peeps! Trust the dino on this!
