Nils Edte is an artist based in Stuttgart. Driven by his passion for music, he has evolved in the hypnotic ambient techno scene. His deep, organic and atmospherical sound identity was inspired by the classic genres and nature ambience and textures. As a huge supporter of the local culture scene, he also engages in different kinds of artistic creations and especially the connections between the different Arts.
Together with Laima Adelaide and Tama he is part of the Stuttgart based label Predawn Records.

Reflexions Podcast 25 - Medulla Oblongata

Our next guest is a producer and a DJ based in Oslo, Norway. Working within music as a sound technician/producer as well as having a number of projects across a wide range of styles and expressions, ranging from ambient and psychedelic rock to psy-chill and techno. With his project Hydrous the focus and style is rooted in the hypnotic, psychedelic and atmospheric side of techno. Drawing a big part of his inspiration from nature, especially the nordic scenery, as well as meditative states, bringing these threads of inspiration throughout his productions as well as DJ sets.
Released his debut EP on @navigare-audio in 2021 and has recently been releasing music on labels such as @charybdis-records, @indefinite-pitch, @lotusparable and @soriarec. Please welcome @hydrous1

We start the year with a new scene. 

Prithvi (Earth): Prithvi represents solidness. The earth is rigid, heavy, and stable. It can hold something and stop something.

For the first fragment of the year, I want to share with you a deep dive by Ancestral Landscapes.

Living in Messina in the Italian peninsula, Salvo started his music career in 2015. After experimenting for two years, he decided to start performing at various private underground parties. 

Storyteller, his inspirations come from the beautiful nature surrounding Messina. Constantly looking for new textures, his productions and mixes are always evolving.

‘’ I wanted to create a plot with tribal and minimal atmospheres accompanied by evolving melodies, this mix recalls immersion in mystical landscapes in nature creating that trippy atmosphere ‘’

Sonic experiments derived from syncopated rhythms, intricately crafted ambiences, and patiently evolving textures, Pattrn’s work as a producer is rooted to the perception of time and space. Playing violin since the age of four and later on majoring in both acousmatic music composition and sound engineering, Pattrn’s precision is the fruit of a lifelong dedication to music of all forms, from creation in itself or through his implications in Brussels’ scene. 

Beyond the years of technical know-how and self improvement in production, DJing, and live sets,  Brice Deloose aka Pattrn has been an active member of the local scene for quite some time. Cocreator of FTRSND, Brussels By Night Federation, Initiate, as well as having been the artistic director of Fuse club, Pattrn has spent much of his time promoting local artists and collectives to push forward Brussels' underground. 

Having shared the decks with the likes of Luke Slater, Luigi Tozzi, Claudio PRC, Kangding Ray, Svreca, and many more, Pattrn uses his sets to impose his world of seamless hypnotic music to lure passionates for always one last dance.

Welcome to another edition of our codecast REC sessions.

For this one I'd like to share a personal session, recorded in an erotic party hosted here in Buenos Aires.

I always try to addapt to the venues I play at and blend in with the crowd and what they might be experiencing in that particular dancefloor.
Thefore, my usual hypnotic grooves & atmospheres were in this ocassion combined with percussive dancefloor gems, trying to create a balance between hypnotism and a sweaty dancefloor.

We are thrilled to welcome Heliopora from Melifera Records with a perfectly crafted down-to-mid tempo immersive podcast.

Here are his words to introduce the mix :
"This podcast tells the story of an underwater exploration. A diver notices a blue whale in the distance. As he gets further into the deep blueness of the sea, a new world appears before his eyes. Filled with curiosity and emotion from this encounter, he lets himself be guided by the mysteries of the ocean in an attempt to catch a glimpse of rorqual once more."

Heliopora is a DJ from Marseille. Co-founder of Melifera Records, his personal project aims to bring together his two passions, music and diving.
He is influenced by the deepest techno sprinkled with dub sounds that reveal sunny and watery soundscapes. His set immerses us in the deep blue world along the Mediterranean coast, discovering what lives below the surface.
