A nomadic spirit tracing her ancestry in the frozen Arctic and mountains of Translyvlania,  Claire is one of the most globe-trotting artists Montreal's electronic scene has to offer. In fact, she just recently concluded a wide-ranging summer tour schedule that included musical jaunts in Switzerland, Germany, British Columbia, and the Honduran Bay Islands. From Piknic Electronik to the Techno Parade, and from MUTEK to Club Der Visionaere, Claire’s music is shaking up dancefloors all over the world. 

With several EPs on vinyl and has released on labels Conceptual, Monoclap, Archipel and more. A bit of a gear junkie, Claire has a small but mighty arsenal of synthesizers, samplers, sequencers, and drum machines. Something just flows when those machines come alive and for 2022, she is shifting her focus to live performance. She's also been hard at work preparing to launch her own label, Planète Secrète. Kicking off the 5th season of Harmony podcast series! Just as at the beginning, the goal is to progressively introduce sounds that we dig and talents associated with our label & beyond. 

For this edition, Steffen Bennemann took a turn. Steffen is a DJ & producer from Germany that is well known among our partygoers. Besides that, he is a former curator of the favourite Nachtdigital festival & co-founder of Holger.

As he said himself, “I made a mix using material by one of my favourites - the whole mix is music by just one person. Don’t want to spoil the fun upfront, but I'm sure you'll recognize who I'm talking about."

Who : Simone Giovannetti & Ela Casella. Simone is a DJ and producer born in Terni, Italy. Inspired by Umbria’s landscape, he evokes an ancient and mystical vibe, while maintaining a deep communion with the forces of nature.
E L A is an Argentinian DJ from Buenos Aires who currently resides in Milan. In recent years, E L A has contributed beautiful recordings to several labels and collectives, including Rinse France and Radio Raheem. From start to finish, she weaves together slow techno pieces with ambient soundscapes and subtle rhythms that are filled with surprising changes.

For this set we tried to stay in between deep hypnotic sound, infused with idm, and bass driven tunes, going back and forth between straight 4/4 kicks and syncopated ones.
Lately got bored really easly from all 4/4 sets and find hard to create a connection with the music with all breaks sets because we can't dance how we'd like to, so for me the solution is to try to find an healthy balance between straight 4/4 and breaks in order to get the best from both styles. Simone also played some unreleased from a friend and himself and was super fun to see people dance to our new music!

This month I’m joined by German producer and live performer, Tobias Freund. A true veteran in electronic music, Tobias’ first job was as an apprentice in a music and recording studio in Frankfurt where he grew up. Fueled by a deep love of technology, machines, and sound, he learned to engineer and later to create. These days, he has a concise collection of hardware which he uses to experiment in techno, downtempo, punk and beyond.

Tobias and I met at his studio in Berlin to discuss all things machine, technology, and the joy of exploring a craft he’s spent a lifetime perfecting.

Rocío Portillo is an electronic music producer, DJ, and singer. She is also a brave, grateful, and conscious woman. Her full-time passion for music came after overcoming cancer, which made her hold on to life.

At 25, she obtained a degree in Social Communication and since then, she has worked in prominent media outlets in Mendoza. In 2024, after battling leukemia for five years and focusing on her recovery, she gave up her career as a journalist to dedicate herself solely to music for a while.

During the summer, a tour took her to the main electronic music stages across Argentina: Rosario, Buenos Aires, Bariloche, Córdoba, and Mar del Plata. Before that, with the help of an agent and her own promotion, she planned her first European tour, performing in cities across Spain, Italy, Germany, and France.

With an elegant and sober style, Rocío steadily advances as a leading female figure in electronic music. She proudly says she is part of the line-up of festivals where her own role models also perform: among others, Hernán Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sasha or John Digweed.

Her mother’s encouragement, which led her to take singing, dance, theater, and piano lessons, along with the support of her father, a choir director, invited her to explore the possibilities of art and the diversity of music. In her performances, she combines original pieces with hybrid sets where she includes her own voice.
