Nach einem Abstecher in die bayrische Landeshauptstadt … geht’s direkt weiter ins sächsische Dresden. Delia durfte ich dieses Jahr endlich auf der Nation mal treffen. Was soll ich sagen wir waren direkt auf einer Wellenlänge und haben spontan das Wäldchen am Sonntagabend unsicher gemacht. Sehr lustig wars auch wenn wir die hälfte der Crew unterwegs verloren haben haha. Das schreit auf jeden Fall nach einer Wiederholung. Dementsprechend war es klar das ich sie gerne in meiner Corona-Swimmers-Edition hätte … gefragt und direkt zugesagt … so muss das sein. Und musikalisch bin ich hin und weg. Toller Stimmungsbogen mit ordentlich Druck und schönen verspulten Einlagen. Liebe Delia ich freu mich schon dich mal live zu hören.

Monomood was born in the mid-80s in a small village near Dresden. But for more than 20 years, Berlin has been his hometown. As an artist, he is difficult to categorize. What is it? Techno? House? Drum and bass? Or maybe dubstep? How about a quantum of funk or ambient? Well, actually it's always a bit of everything - but always new and fresh. It's hard to find a leitmotif, and yet there is one: quality. Having started with techno in the late '90s and lingering on the drum and bass station for a while, it's fair to say that Monomood now operates in two different yet familiar directions : on the one hand, the vast cosmos of dubby, delay-driven sounds; on the other, heavy bass drums and energetic dancefloor movers. Hence, his catalog features releases at Etui Records, Infinè, Fachwerk and many more.

Some people take forever to truly find their passion, but CVO aka Casimir von Oettingen has reached a point of clarity, when he created his new alias. His aim is to focus on the minimalistic structures of the electronic genre and add his signature stamp by introducing just the right amount of breaks. He has enjoyed residencies at Salon zur wilden Renate and Watergate, played venues like Sisyphos, Hoppetosse and Kater Blau. He shared his understanding of electronic music on labels such as Black Sea Side Music, Lauter.Records or As Usual in over 13 active years. Additionally, he was essential for the birth of Station Endlos in his hometown Halle, where he created a place to get lost in. CVO’s well formed and outstanding sound has carefully developed over the last years. Running the vinyl only label Bladehouse, whose Unknown Artist philosophy allows them to focus on the music rather than the artist themselves

I recently played the closing set at Esthetic Evolution 2012, an amazing little Summer Solstice festival in Idaho that I have the honor of co-promoting every year. I played a sprawling 4+ hour sunrise set covering a wide range of deep, progressive and disco infused techno and tech house by some of my favorite artists over the last decade. It was only later that I found out it was recorded by Jeremy Kaiser with Starborne Sound. 

I feel this was one of the best sets I've ever played –and by far some of the most fun I’ve ever had playing- even if it is a little loose once in a while or way too effect heavy at other times. I am honored to share it with all my friends, whether or not they were able to join us for that magical morning.  I hope you all feel the same and I look forward to getting your feedback.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for almost fifteen years of love and support.

This is a live take of a recent quaranstream set, ranging from really deep house and techno, to acid melodic techno, to classic downtempo, electronica and even a hint of DNB from over the last 25 or so years. I removed the hipster indie rock at the end coz you just had to be there.  Thanks to friends who stuck it out for the four hours live. Hope others like listening as much as  I enjoyed playing!
