Part psych, part world, part tribal. The aptly named duo Mushrooms Project have an ease in which they blend a range of unique elements into cohesive and heady pieces of sonic art. Mondo Janga is an EP that avoids formula entirely, and can be club or home centrepieces. In our ears, their signature sound blends playful percussion, and a strong contingent of sample and synth exploration. That sound is showcased perfectly in these 3 tracks.

Carefully selected artists were enlisted to re-interpret the original visions. With 3 remixes of the title track Multi Culti’s Thomas Von Party took Janga to the late hours, with his deep and driving remix. While Twerking Class Heroes put their broken beat bliss stamp on the same and finally a tasteful and elegant organic interpretation by Italy’s rising Migra. Finally, Da Iguana slinks his way to another quirky and exciting remix of Mondo that will have you jumpin’.

Ellum 017 - Gardens Of God - YS - preview

London-based Greek artists and Inside Out Records bosses Stavros Potamitis, aka Stevie R, and Constantinos Parisinos, aka Parisinos join Roam Recordings with three original offerings. Both the title track, Martian Judy, and Bugs in a Hurricane are synth-laden low-slung jams perfect for catching a steady groove or for just zoning out. Remina keeps the theme of dreamy synths while picking up the tempo with an upbeat mood. The EP is accompanied by a sublime remix from Glasgow-based MR TC, who takes Martian Judy further into dreamy acid territory.

Our well-received 'Muy Duro' VA series reaches its ninth edition loaded with acid sounds, hypnotic percussions, booming basses, blips, noises and a lot of energy. For this edition we have the pleasure to present music from Enzio Etchaberri, Theus Mago & Coast2c, Zillas On Acid, Mike Sacchetti & Chas, and ZEA.

The compilation opener is "Vow" by Enzio Etchaberri also known as Etcha. A slow, fat and frisky cut. The percussion takes you up and down, while the atmosphere feels like being inside a sound blender. It’s followed by the collaboration between Theus Mago and the modular synthesis crack, Coast2c. “Dead Piano” a track influenced by rave music and acid techno, with a resonant bass, sharp percussions and an obscure and deep melody.

The North American duo, Zillas On Acid, presents "Proteus", a slow and brutal cut loaded with funky psychedelic sounds, reverberating vocals, a hypnotic bass line and synthesizers born from the void. "The Revenge of Los Tropicales", the collaboration between Mike Sacchetti & Chas, a somniferous and latin cut filled with percussions and psychotropic keyboards that will make you fantasize. Closing the VA is ZEA with "Generator Machine", a powerful and edged cut with phantasmagoric synths and fuzzy vocals out of a science fiction movie.

The original features a heavy four on the floor rhythm with radio vocals and strong bass lines. The remix by Israel based Autarkic offers a strong break beat alternative.

Inside Out Records are poised and ready to drop their fifth EP, which is titled 'Days of Growth'. Stepping up to the plate to continue the labels previous success, are
Italians Louis Kolben & Mozi. Featuring two tracks, this EP posses some strong dramatic influences that within itself, tell a story of emotion and change. The project reflects all the phases that occur, whilst on a pathway of growth as well as the obstacles that scan running time, which are experienced when breaking periods of intense activity.
The two italian producers Louis Kolben & Mozi kick things off with the track ‘Stubborn‘. Commanding an intensity from the get go, it has a solid drive and consistent energy from start to finish. To give it some light and shade, ambient landscapes and an edgier more glitchy vibe are brought together to enhance a unique sound. There is a clever sense of depth and physical space within this track, which adds a whole new dimension.
'Suddenly‘ is track number two from Louis Kolben. Dropping a notch or two and putting out a slightly deeper feel then track one, its the rich rolling bassline that really gives this track its backbone. The progression is subtle and seems slow at first, but it quickly builds momentum. Industrial inspired samples and some quirky sounds fill in the gaps, creating a well balanced contrast of sounds.

'Odes' is one of my all-time favourite albums and reworking any of the pieces from this record was something I wanted to do for a while. 'Rizes' is a piece that has sonically intriguing and psychedelic content. I could see taking it to a more rhythmically active direction and create something new that people would be able to enjoy on the dance-floors but still keep it respectful to the original.
