Intricate Records is ready to present the long-awaited sequel of the label’s signature compilations. The second issue of «Intricate Sessions» will be released in summer 2014. In accordance with the last year’s tradition, two permanent residents and label co-founders, PROFF and Vadim Soloviev are responsible for compiling and mixing of Volume Two. The main release will be introduced by two samplers. The second sampler will be put together by PROFF. Three tracks from this sampler are already confirmed to appear on Vladimir’s mix later on, these are: «Robots» by Envotion, «The Computer» by Feu d’Or and «Believe» by Local Heroes.

The Dutch trio Envotion continues spreading their extra-sensible electronic sound to the masses. This time the guys from Maastricht composed a track «Robots» and reminded us about the long forgotten subject of human communication with machines and the search for balance between technologies and emotions. Here and there you could trace the reminiscences of the classical «The Robots» by Kraftwerk, however, its content is much more major and cheerful compared to the creation of the German team. Another track in the sampler, also with a title that shows connection with high-tech solutions, was composed by the label’s good old friend, Feu d’Or — two years ago he joined the Intricate catalog with two hits, «Chasin Joe» and «Singapore». 

His latest production, «The Computer», in contrary, is heavyset and outsize, even clumsy, but at the same time not less attractive and melodic than the previous works by this musician. A totally new name for the label and its followers is Local Heroes – are three rugged fellows from Buffalo with very serious commitments to update their status of local scene heroes to the internationally acclaimed trio. One of the first steps in this direction is their original production «Believe», a lightsome track they submitted especially for the second «Intricate Sessions» compilation.

The track with a screaming title «Shout!» by Sebastian Weikum immediately catches the eye. This original production depicts the vivid elements and signature sound on this Poland-based musician: general liveliness and contagion of the vocal samples. Another hero of the sampler is Artego — a musician, sound-producer and deejay from the city of Yekaterinburg with over ten years scene experience, participant of the project Dancekraft and former co-founder of the pop-band Fontano. His versatile experience can be traced also on his production «Make Me Believe» – it is quite easy-received, dancefloor-friendly and is heard in one breath. Finally, the third participant of the sampler 
— Konstantin Astafiev from Cherkassy, known on the scene under his creative alias V I F, expressed his own opinion with the help of his track «Point Of View». Holding a degree in sound engineering, he knows how to make music attractive for the listener. That is why his work corresponds with the general concept of the entire release very well: feel the beginning of a sunny and hot summer.

On the 12th of July 2014, Intricate Records will hold a special showcase at the annual GES Festival. The large event is dedicated to electronic music, extreme and adventure sports — the showcase by Intricate Records boasts an impressive team of Cosmonaut, Envotion, Fon.Leman, Poison Pro and PROFF.

The annual festival of electronic music and extreme sports «GES» was established in 2007 and will unite the fans of active lifestyle and club music already for the 8th time in 2014 on the territory of Samara region in Russia. The sand of Kopylovo, the massive chain of Zhigulevskie mountains and, of course, the river Volga create a favourable soil not jut for beach dancing but also for a wide variety of adventure outdoor activities. Nowadays GES festival takes place close to the wickets of Zhigulevskaya hydroelectric power station, near the picturesque water storage reserve — for its large size it is popularly called «Zhigulevskoe sea». The event is held with the general support of Togliatti city district Administration and Department of Tourism of Samara region, it puts together the appearance of over 20 electronic dance music live acts and DJs from all around the world with over 20 different extreme sports activities. For the first time in the history of GES Festival, Intricate Records will present a solid label showcase at Ultraviolet dancefloor — on the 12th of July 2014 the Dutch project Envotion, the most prolific resident artist Fon.Leman plus the DJs Cosmonaut, Poison Pro and PROFF will headline the night and display the diverse sides of the modern electronic sound as promoted by the Russian Progressive label.

Fon.Leman prepares official two-parts compilation, as a part of Intricate Records label showcase on GES Festival 2014. Its tracklist fully provides the title of Alex Fon.Leman as the most prolific label resident. Half of the material is provided by himself. The compilation will be available in stores Beatport and iTunes, as well as on CDs in Russia

Kicking off the compilation is Nigel Good's jubilant remix of "Sumr" by Dezza & Shoreliners. Fresh off his debut artist album, which reached #1 overall on Beatport, Nigel treats us to a sparkling, complextro-influenced progressive gem, rife with feel-good vibes. Vintage & Morelli, one of the standout artists from Silk's Arrival division, offers a fresh, peak-hour take on "Night Time" by Sound Quelle. A bouncy house rhythm sits below a stormy and evocative lead, punctuated by a haunting vocal sample. The main break is a goosebumps-inducing aural experience, as the vocal motif and piano poignantly coalesce. Aeron Aether's "Synthanelia" still finds a home in our radio and live sets; Jayeson Andel, a breakthrough artist on our imprint, offers a full-on trance stormer with his new rendering, which has received early radio support from Arty. The memorable string themes of the original soar above an adrenalin-fueled, stadium-rocking groove. French talent Matt Fax, another leader of Arrival, offers a new interpretation of one of Silk Royal's early releases, Pconvolve's "Cosmology". As the title implies, celestially-inspired synths transport the listener to the far reaches of the galaxy; a progressive breaks interlude and explosive drop in the latter half of the track are true release highlights. David Broaders closes out the first half of the release with an awe-inspiring interpretation of "Starman" by Gregory Esayan. A thunderous groove resolves into a beautiful piano and string-themed breakdown; these poignant melodies are some of the most enduring from the compilation this year.

New label recruit Illuminor, a rising duo from Australia, add a bit more punch to eleven.five's classic "Pinnacle". A highly innovative groove, as well as new variations on the main piano motif from the original, stand out in this fantastic new version. Trusty label veteran Sundriver offers a driving take on Denis Laurent feat. Kaisa Martina's "All I Need". A vintage lead chord progression, with numerous euphoric synth layers and arpeggios, paves the way for Kaisa's romantic vocal in the breakdown. Reaching international listeners on Proton Radio, Digitally Imported, Pure.FM, Tenzi.FM, Dance Paradise, and other radio platforms, Silk Royal Showcase is quickly approaching its 250th episode (www.silkroyalshowcase.com) and now often ranks amongst the Top 100 Podcasts in the world on iTunes. Carefully selected to represent the sound of Silk Royal Showcase radio, the songs included in the compilation range from the more pensive and melancholic shades of progressive to the more club-oriented, peak-hour material we tend to play at the end of our radio show mixes and live sets. Many of the artists are seasoned veterans of the SRS compilation series; there are also numerous first-time contributors to this year's compilation, many of whom have asserted themselves as leading talents in trance & progressive in just the past year. This is why the fellows decided not to take a break at the level of current achievements and grounded their own record label. «By the times someone discovers the points of coincidence with the colleagues not only in terms of business, but also creative sphere – that is always a positive experience! – Unification of musical efforts in frames of one label is our next and by no means unimportant step in creative self-fulfillment».

It is important to mention that the quad is not going to limit the newborn imprint’s catalog only with own productions. Intricate Records is also a promising platform for implementation of creative aspiration of other talented producers who feel themselves on the same wave quite often.

«Right at the moment there is no single record label which coincides with my musical taste and general conception, which I would like to see being embodied. Starting a new imprint with the fellow guys, I’m looking forward to the having the possibility of fulfilling myself as an A&R-manager and making the current musical world at least a little bit better.
