Music For Dreams are proud to present Copenema’s new album Hoje, to be released June 27th.
 
Copenema is the collaborative project masterminded by Brazillian multi-instrumentalist Rodrigo Sha. The essence of the music is Brazilian, both in its rhythms and moods. Yet it traces a clear course from the samba of Rio de Janeiro to the Balearic Beat of Ibiza, through a pit stop in the northern city of Copenhagen, picking up new influences, production styles and collaborators from the Music For Dreams roster.
 
Hoje, meaning “Today”, is Copenema’s third album and features twelve songs: eleven originals written by Sha and a bossa-nova cover version of ‘Love Is In The Air’. The sound of the album is joyful and wholesome, with Sha’s saxophone, flute, guitar and unique Carioca voice adding many deep colors the sweet harmonies and sunny beats.
 
The album features producers and instrumentalists including DJ Disse, Walt Default, DJ Pippi, Grassskirt, OliO, The Swan And The Lake, Kenneth Bager, Reinhard Vanbergen, Gabriel Moura, and other names.

The release is supported by Koda’s Cultural Funds and Musik Forlæggerne.

Trippin Grooves

Last weekend, I had the honor of being invited to play at an incredible music and gastronomy festival in the city of Macaé, on the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was two days filled with music, amazing food, and an incredible vibe with truly special people.

I played on both days, and this set was recorded live on Saturday, right at noon, facing the beach. You can probably imagine the atmosphere of that moment. Over the course of three hours, we went through many moods, starting at 90 bpm and ending at 160 bpm. There was disco, soul, funk, Brazilian music, house — just the way you and I like it.

I always like to make it clear that, since this was a live recording, you’ll obviously hear tracks that I’ve played before here on the channel. My live sets are also the result of my ongoing musical research, which I share weekly with you here. So if you’re a recurring viewer of this channel, someone who enjoys catching the finer details, this note may be useful to you.

I’m truly happy to be invited more and more often to play at major live events. On one hand, it’s fantastic for my career, but on the other, as you can imagine, it reduces the time I have in the studio to prepare and produce 100% new material twice a week. Still, I believe our repertoire as DJs is something alive — it reshapes and presents itself anew depending on the moment and the environment we’re in.

Continuing my musical journey that I’ve been sharing with you, we keep our feet on the pulse of disco music — this time also touching on deep house, with some Brazilian, Latin, and African beats, while always holding on to that soulful/funky/jazzy vibe.

I recorded this set over the weekend at home with my kids, while a pork roast was baking in the oven for our lunch. The kids were enjoying the music, playing video games, and the smell of the food was filling the room. That was the vibe of the recording, if it helps you connect with what I mean by this brief journey.

Slick Grooves - some deep, disco & house grooves mix

DJ Set recorded live in September 2025 on the island of Florianópolis, southern Brazil.

This week I was invited to play at the Pássaro Vermelho Mostra Jazz, a series of performances with various jazz musicians — with me being the only DJ — held at the Porongo restaurant here in Florianópolis.
I recorded this set live during the performance (which took place last night), and I’m excited to share it with you here.

Jazz is not just a musical genre. It’s a perspective, a state of things, where improvisation, mistakes, and beauty are all served at the same table, allowing us to fully experience the present moment.

Kenneth Bager, Anders Ponsaing - Please Ya, Lisa (ft. Zididada) - s0905

Last week, someone very important to me called me on Google Meet — not to talk, but simply to keep the call open while we worked, as if we were in the same room despite the distance. We spent a few hours like that, and I kept the music playing on SoundCloud, shared between us. As we worked, we listened together, and of course, I started picking out the tracks that would fit best for a new set here on the channel.

I’m sharing this story to say that this set wasn’t made just for you to have a peaceful and relaxing moment while listening — it’s also a collection of songs that gave me that same feeling. Music connects us and helps us share our spirits, and I know we’re all doing this together. I can see it in the comments I receive here on the channel and in the way people connect to all of this.
