I wrote this initially thinking of one person, but it turned out to actually be about another as well. Ironically, both people had the same name. Enjoy! 

I Guess Not

I wrote this song when I was sick and had lost my voice. I literally could only sing two or three notes, which is how the song started. Because I could barely sing, all this emotion was building up inside. I couldn't sing the whole melody, but I knew where it should go, and the words just kept coming. Hope you enjoy! 

Monotone

Written August 4th, 2016.
This is one of my most recent songs, hence it being only 15 days after I wrote it that I am posting it. I recorded the main vocals at the same time as I was recording the piano, with one mic, hoping to give it more of a performance, live feel. While this has worked before, sadly the mic was too close to the piano, so forgive the quietness of the vocals. 
Backstory time: A friend of mine made a facebook post about losing his phone in the woods around his house. For some reason this inspired me along the lines of, if you are forcibly disconnected with social media for a time, it can be better for living out life. This is what spurred the first line of the song, "I lost my phone in the woods, but then I connected with humanity," and I went from there.

Piano Trio No. 1 in G Dardanian, Op. 54 (2015), as performed by fEARnoMUSIC (Ines Voglar-Belgique, violin; Nancy Ives, violoncello; Jeffrey Payne, piano).  This piece was the 2015-16 Locally Sourced Sounds Call for Scores winner, and performed at the January 22, 2016 concert.
