The paun ambient series are biannual DJ sets first realized in 2020. Thanks to a diverse selection of featured artists and sub-genres, the series can be considered a study on the ethereal edges of music. @isthispaun is an emerging, Berlin-based producer and DJ.
Their first guest mix comes from @dana.sonic (they/them), an artist working on the Haldimand Tract (aka Waterloo, ON, Canada). Inspired by the CFRU radio show "Neighbouring Sounds", Dana blends their own field recordings with walrus and weddell seal calls, an aurora borealis folk tale, and music from southern Ontario's underground.

The paun ambient series are twice-annual DJ sets first realized in 2020. Thanks to a diverse selection of featured artists and sub-genres, the series can be considered a study on the ethereal edges of music. 

Our second guest mix comes from Tina Marie fka @b0ssmentality, a Zürich-based landscape architect and current resident DJ at Kasheme with roots in Cameroon, Madagascar and Canada. Having resided in Switzerland for the past 5 years, she recently co-founded Planting Solidarity, an international collective that promotes food and land solidarity through collective knowledge exchange, participatory research, and the facilitation of events/workshops. Her first ambient mix is inspired by this summer's explorations; a journey through the intersections of healing and landscapes that blurs daydreams and reality.

Our third guest mix is by abibi - a Lahore-bred now Berlin-based multi-genre DJ that keeps her dance floors thumping and weird with a dash of familiarity for good fun. She's also the co-founder of @unseen_berlin, an intersectional collective that creates parties, DJ peer-exchange workshops and zines, with the aim of uplifting community spirit in our music scene.

Our fourth guest mix comes from @zapata-zb - co-founder of @hardmatterrecords and @streetman-records. As a New York-born and Berlin-based DJ, he's obsessed with live instruments, analog soundscapes and jazz, the last a key influence in his broad selections, which you can hear throughout Hardmatter Records' show on London's @balamii Radio. Following a fresh EP, Zapata is finishing an ambient-jazz album due in 2025 while DJing at Berlin's Paloma Bar. 

Artwork: Laura St. Amant is a visual artist of Ojibwe, Métis, and Ukrainian background. A member of Henvey Inlet First Nation who grew up outside the community. Working predominantly with acrylic paint, Laura creates representational images in their perspective of daily life. This 2024 piece references the work of Alphonse Mucha as well as Indigenous plants, mystic elements, astrological motifs and contemporary times.
