Our Belgian connection runs deep, built on shared moments, mutual admiration, and a steady stream of talent that never seems to dry up. The latest to surface is Ben Kamal: Brussels-based DJ, promoter, and soon-to-be label boss. In recent years, Ben has been a staple in clubs like C12, Fuse, and Funke, as well as festivals like Paradise City and Horst. He’s carved out a sound that’s both precise and personal, equal parts deep, minimal, and melancholic. As a resident of Lola Haro’s Small Steps series and curator of nights at bis.club, he’s been steadily shaping a mood, a narrative, a space. And with the first release on his new label ov guidance about to drop, featuring a.brehme and signall kommt (aka z@p), that space is about to get even more defined.

Listening to the mix Ben made for us feels like watching dusk fold into night in slow motion. The arc is patient, but the details are razor-sharp: fluttering hats, muted basslines, strange shadows between the kick and the silence. There’s movement, but it’s not linear. It loops, it lingers, it pulls you inward. It’s not about big moments, it’s about micro-decisions that add up to something more enduring. Call it dusk-lake energy. Call it perfect for the other side.

Aawadh is a French DJ and producer who explores hypnotic tribal rhythms with deep textures. Mainly influenced by organic percussion and immersive atmospheres, his music flows across a wide spectrum of genres. His debut tracks, recently released on Techlab (Budapest) and Aneehli Records (Tbilisi), mark a shift toward rhythmically complex and exploratory forms, which fully take shape on his album Dyadica, recently released on the Annulled Music label.

The haze of Paral·lel festival has barely lifted, but we’re rewinding to another moment worth lingering on, February in Granada, at the Moonback club. There, under the warm glow of the Extramostra banner, Mostra linked up with the Klub Collective for a night that balanced local soul with an international touch. The lineup reads like a heads-only dream: Timnah, Antonio Vázquez, Refracted, and a solid core of Klub Collective residents including Fran Acosta, Kaizen, and Utopian. The kind of night that reminded us why the first slot matters more than most people admit. It’s the architectural role: shaping the night’s flow from zero.

Utopian did just that. His set unfolds like a slow exhale, dub-laced ambient that creeps, swells, and gradually transforms into chugging, low-slung techno hypnosis. It’s a patient climb: syncopated, restrained, precise. Not a single cheap move, just deep focus and floor logic, the kind that sets the table without stealing the meal. But make no mistake, this was a statement. A warm-up that didn’t just support the night, but elevated it.

Closing sets come with built-in pressure. But at this year’s Perpendicular Festival, Saturday wrapped up not with spectacle, but with style. Valencia-based DJ and producer Facundo, a standout discovery from the city’s ever-surprising scene, took control of the final stretch with a set that was patient, fluid, and full of character. It moved with intent, keeping the energy alive without ever pushing too hard. The kind of set that made you forget the time, anchored in rhythm and shaped by subtle shifts. A groove that spoke softly but hit deep.

Facundo’s approach to the closing slot was a slow reveal. He opened with broken, syncopated patterns before sliding seamlessly into a tight four-to-the-floor pulse. The tension built with restraint - dark, shadowy techno moments came and went, but the release was never forced. This was a set that traded hype for nuance, showmanship for control. Polyrhythmic elegance in the woods.

Delayed x Perpendicular: Facundo

Fresh off the release of his outstanding album ‘Berlin’ we welcome Felix K - a true purveyor of sophisticated, deep electronic music. His work explores the fringes of techno, jungle, dub, and ambient, building immersive sound worlds that defy easy categorization. Known for his meticulous approach to production and his ability to weave complex narratives through sound, Felix K has carved out a unique space for himself in the global underground scene.

For this marathon journey, Felix K delivers a masterclass in patience and precision, guiding listeners through a three-hour odyssey that is as introspective as it is rhythmically compelling. The mix is a testament to his expansive musical knowledge and his ability to connect seemingly disparate genres into a cohesive, flowing narrative.

In his own words: "The mix was recorded in my studio in Berlin. Beginning with slower Dub Techno, it slips into the early, minimalist 85/170 Drum-and-Bass era, showcasing plenty of those formative highlights before closing with authentic Amen Breaks combining with a sound design that actually anticipates the vibe of some of today’s darker techno productions."

There’s a special kind of trust when a festival makes someone a resident. For Les Chaos Ambiants, that someone is Lynne. We’ve partnered with this boutique French festival for the second year, sharing the sounds and stories behind their lakeside weekend in the wooded hills of Sommant. The festival thrives on curation that feels personal, lineups that move like chapters in a book, sound systems tuned to catch every detail, and a setting where the air itself seems to carry the low-end.

Lynne embodies that approach. Originally from Japan and now based in London, she’s built a reputation on mixing low-lit atmospheres with rhythm patterns that shift just as you think you’ve caught them. Her triumphant comeback to our podcast series finds her opening the spectrum: warmer tones, space between the beats, a subtle dub pulse, and even flickers of jazz phrasing. Yet the structural backbone remains hers, breaks that fold time and pacing that keeps you just ahead of the next turn. It’s not a departure, it's more like a widening of the frame, perfectly in sync with the spirit of Les Chaos Ambiants.

Some DJs treat genre boundaries like walls; others see them as doors. Craig Gonzalez belongs firmly to the latter camp. A staple of Detroit’s underground and a resident DJ at Paxahau’s Third Thursday monthly, he has long been drawn to what happens when techno’s linear propulsion collides with the restless syncopation of drum & bass. That liminal space, the “grey area” between the two, has become one of the most fertile playgrounds in electronic music over the past decade, and Gonzalez shows why. In this mix, recorded as the opening set on the Movement main stage, he handles tempo as a fluid variable, shifting gears without friction and letting polyrhythms function as the connective tissue. It’s the kind of approach that resists the obvious peak and instead builds a topology of groove, a groove that bends but doesn’t break, carrying dancers across time signatures almost without them noticing. 

And while opening a stage that would later host Deepchord, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Octave One, and Jeff Mills could be seen as a daunting warm-up role, Gonzalez treats it less as preparation and more as architecture. Across ninety minutes, he layers patterns with patience, calibrating intensity so that tension rises and releases without tipping into spectacle. The set moves like a conversation that shifts from whispers to declarations, never overstated but always persuasive. It’s a reminder that flow is not just sequencing but narrative logic, and that true mastery lies not in domination of a dancefloor but in shaping the conditions for everything that comes after.
