Today I am delighted to welcome Ibukun Sunday to Deep Mind Music, with a celestial mix made up 100% of his own productions💫 

Ibukun is a violinist and experimental ambient musician, whose productions have a subtlety and emotional depth that has struck me since the first time I came across them. You’ll likely have heard me play some of Ibukun’s music in my ambient sets, and I am really excited to share this beautiful journey with you all 🧡

From the beginning of Ibukun’s mix, we are dissolved in a daydream, drifting in a blanket of cloud. Warm chords breeze across us as we sink deeper, gently morphing into flurries of sound. As the mix unfurls, a delicate interplay of harmonies and field recordings drop us into half remembered memories. Washes of sound interspersed with snippets of reality come in and out of our awareness, as we’re carried upwards to an emotional peak. 

At the halfway point, we dissipate into a state of meditative peace, afloat on a bed of gentle drones. As the mix concludes, plucky acoustics glitch into sparse electronics and glistening tones, the edges of reality flickering into new dimensions around us as we awaken 🍃✨

what a whirlwind of a travel month june has been. this sunday finds myself back at home after an extended trip for waking life. so many emotions, so many friends, both new and old, experiences both good and bad. i will be processing it all for quite some time. i feel so fortunate to be able to make these trips, and while i may be tired, i feel so inspired and appreciative of it all.
