Sundays can be the icing on the cake of a long weekend, and other times the trough before the massive wave called Monday that rolls over you. In either scenario there is a wealth of music awaiting your minds and ears to make your Sundays better. As with Delayed and our love of curation, we’d like to extend our programming and expertise into another realm, dedicated to that of downtempo, electronica, ambient and everything in between. The caveat? Only quality not quantity, and don’t hold us to genre.

Timnah signature approach to earthy dance music has been tried, tested and approved by swinging hips all over Europe. Developing her style from age 17 onwards, when she started playing in squats and industrial spaces around Basel, she’s continuously making her mark with warm, reverberating techno cuts from across the spectrum. During her residencies at Hinterhof Bar and Elysia, Timnah‘s sets fluently cover (and transcend) shades of techno, experimental and ambient music, establishing her as a firm favourite amongst dancers and peers. Smooth mixing skills, strong emotional narratives and an intuitive understanding of dancefloor dynamics continue to define her style, seamlessly cruising through the small hours of the night.

For this peaceful fall morning, we turn to local Brooklyn based producer and DJ, Vicki Siolos for the auditory selections. After meeting at the Mostra festival in Barcelona, there was an immediate connection which only strengthened after listening through a few of her ‘Bright Pattern’ shows she hosts on the Lot Radio. Her mix for today showcases several pieces by Norm Chambers, as she writes – ‘including a new one released by his family on the anniversary of his passing. His music continues to inspire me to push myself deeper into my own imagination and stitch it into a sonic narrative. Somewhere lurking under the last leaves on the ground, squirming and squelching with the mycelium and microorganisms, we find Timnahs sonic world tucked away in a sacred place. Taking inspiration from the natural world, she has solidified a name for herself as a purveyor of psychedelic rhythms and carefully curated cacophonies. As a resident at the renowned Elysia club in Basel, she has honed her skills further and expanded her sound into ambient and experimental territories. 

This edition of Unrush is a testament to Timnah's ear for the uncanny and sense for crafting a dynamic narrative. Solemn drones guide us like a soft breeze into the winter months, only interrupted by washes of organic textures and subtle electronics. We hope you enjoy this masterful mix from one of Switzerland's finest.

Mostra (@mostrabcn) is an independent small-format festival of avant-garde and experimental electronic music that was born as an alternative to the macro-festivals and mass, commercial events that are held in the city of Barcelona. Mostra 2024 will take place from 28 to 31 March in Barcelona, featuring a total of 32 artists across two distinctive venues of the city.

Marking the culmination of 2023, our final mix features the debut release from one of our own, @zilkamarie. As the driving force behind comms within our collective, Zilka's music inspiration is drawn from the diverse array of artists she collaborates with.

Recorded live at Jacopo (@severja) and Fred’s (@fred-czital) Hitze party back in July, the set follows on from a daytime open air while also opening the after party. Progressing from wet, spacious ambient sounds to dubby, irresistible beats, Patterns of Perception 120 captures and plays with quintessential afterhours vibes.

this warm sunday morning brings us a rather special offering, a hybrid set supplied by berlin based producer, and dj - sarah wreath who stretched her ambient muscles at fellow delayed favorite kato de vidts’ ambient tide series. here is what she had to say about the set:

this recording captures my hybrid performance at ambient tide in brussels—an event meticulously crafted by kato de vidts to deliver a profound journey of deep listening within an immersive environment.

centered around the chao gong as the primary instrument, the performance featured layered organic soundscapes enhanced by effects processing. this resulted in a hybrid set comprising compositions ranging from ambient to experimental, incorporating elements of icaros and ritual hymns.

the fundamental tone of the chao gong, 110 hertz, known as the fundamental pitch of om chanting, has been shown to aid in emotional processing and relaxation, exerting a profound effect on the right hemisphere of the brain. this hemisphere is recognized as the locus of artistic expression, spirituality, emotion, imaginative thinking, and breakthrough innovation.
