Subterranean trance-like movements of afro-beat mashed-up with psychedelic guitar lines and scatterings of broken brass is the order and Papa Chango delivers like no other. Unique in this thriving Melbourne scene they take it to the gritty edge, melding banging technique with playful exuberance. This Melbourne based 9-piece brings audiences to a sweat on packed dance-floors, evoking a hidden spirit within.

Blank Tape is an artist management, label, audio & video production studio based at The Aviary Artist Hub in Abbotsford Fitzroy. We champion the local music scene.

The label is focused on nurturing and harnessing local Melbourne based artists. The roster includes Texture Like Sun, Pip Norman (Producer AKA Countbounce – Sparkadia, Ash Grunwald, TZU, Urthboy) and has included Axolotl, Hiatus Kaiyote, Harmless, & Jo Schornikow (NYC – The Shivers). The roster has had great success on radio including Triple J as well as a faithful following online around the globe. The roster has publishing with Mushroom, and Gaga as well as distribution through MGM. Texture Like sun is booked by Select Music and Axolotl by Niche Productions. Blank Tape recently released it’s debut release as a record label, a self titled EP by Texture Like Sun.

The highly acclaimed film clip for “Bottle” by Texture Like Sun has received international attention, which was shot and directed and produced at Blank Tape. Since the debut, Blank Tape has also directed videos for, Them Swoops, Texture Like Sun, The Public Opinion Orchestra, Axolotl, Invenio Singers, Chris Hale & Secondhand Heart.
