These two tracks were recorded at Copper Sound in Guelph Ontario. Both tracks use the same tuning and reverb but one track uses the 6 magnet configuration, and the other uses a new 5 magnet configuration designed to reduce harmonic locking.

While reading Allen Strange's Electronic Music: Systems, Techniques and Controls, I was inspired to explore the VCS3 parameters (using the Erica Synths Syntrx clone) to see what focusing on what the tools can do as they interact, rather than actually trying to do anything intentionally. This improvisation was just edited to remove repetition, oh, and I added reverb.

I'm always keen on exploring what is possible to do in spatial and surround sound formats, and this piece seemed the perfect candidate to try realizing in Quad. I hope you find it as interesting as I did!
