It feels quite surreal to say this, but Episode 03 of the Balearic London mix series is brought by none other than Italo house legend Don Carlos. Starting his DJ career in the late 70s, he is best known for his production debut 'Alone'. Widely known as the epitome of what dream house is, the track combines emotive piano chords, crisp percussion, and ethereal pads in what is beautifully floaty yet perfectly punchy perfection. Since then he's released more underground hits under his own name as well as his Montego Bay and Aquanauts monikers. He isn't just a legend of the 90s though, his releases in the recent years on Freerange Records, Utopia, Irma Records, and remixes on Wolf Music and more show that his music sounds as fresh now as ever.

Balearic London Episode 03: Don Carlos

Phonica mix 135 comes in hot from one of the slickest names making waves at the moment.
Wallace – the enigmatic alias of UK producer Jimmy Wallace – continues to assert himself as a quietly formidable force in underground house music. Since his 2023 breakthrough Ripples EP on Rhythm Section International, packed with sway-inducing grooves like “Whirl,” “Pump Up The Volume” and “Cenotes,” he’s maintained a remarkable creative and club presence. In 2024, he followed up with Papertrip on RS, a magnet for DJs and dancefloors alike, and later the Tanzanite EP on On Loop, where “Red Velvet” and “M’bira” earned serious praise for their visceral propulsion.

Wallace’s latest chapter includes a headline slot at Panorama Bar, alongside touring Japan, and support from tastemakers like Moxie, Gilles Peterson, Hunee and Bradley Zero – the latter reportedly playing “four or five Wallace tracks per set” across the past year. Stop-start grooves, pumping electro and acid licks, interwoven with percussive breakdowns and bursts of raw energy, define his DJ sets— for this mix: a cerebral yet unrelenting fusion of house, electro, acid and more, made for physical, late-night immersion.

Our man Tiago was in town recently for some gigs and was nice enough to come out to Kane studios to record a podcast, hang, and have some liquid refreshments. Hailing from Lisbon where he is a weekly resident at Club Lux, Tiago has a laid back intensity that is reflected in the expansive and inquisitive nature of his sets. Raised on good music in his home, turned on to drumming by his older brother, he came to Dj'ing via live music. He has been at it for close to twenty years, and in the last decade added production work to his resume. Proud champions of community and inclusivity, Lakuti and Tama Sumo are long-time Dekmantel favourites and true underground bastions. Deep diggers and lifelong collectors, the iconic Panorama Bar dup built a reputation for sets where pretty much anything goes, as long as it has soul. And the way they mix it, with a rare instinct that pull their crowds in deep is what makes them one of the most revered back-to-back duos in the scene.
This week’s mix is yet more evidence of that: over 80 minutes, they blend old and new. Rooted in house but shaped by global travels, it moves through soul-soaked broken beat, classic US depths and Afro rhythms – always carried by an emotional rawness that resonates. The Jaeger Mix is Oslo’s monthly ritual for deep listening and dance floor exploration, a midweek club night that doubles as a living archive of the city’s underground.
Taking place on select Wednesdays, the series pairs Jaeger resident Ivaylo with a rotating cast of DJs, producers, and live acts, capturing the sound of the night and preserving it as part of Jaeger’s ongoing story.
Each session is recorded in the club, followed by an interview with the guest, and later published as a feature on jaegeroslo.no - In this way, the Jaeger Mix lives beyond the dance floor — a document of Oslo’s electronic music culture, framed both in sound and in words.
Guiding the series is Ivaylo, a Bulgarian-born, Oslo-based DJ, producer, and curator. A long-standing Jaeger resident, label manager for Full Pupp, and founder of Lab Cleaning Jams, he has spent decades shaping Nordic club culture with his deep, soulful, and uncompromising approach to house and techno. His role in the Jaeger Mix is less about the spotlight and more about curation — weaving his own sets together with those of guests to tell the evolving story of the dance floor.
The Jaeger Mix stands as both a celebration of the present and a chronicle for the future, mapping Oslo’s nightlife one night, one mix, and one conversation at a time.
