THE RAVEN
The dark bird caws an aching creak, jarring
high in the branches of my twisted hazel

Light drips thickly - like warm blood or hot metal -
from the anvil angles of its beak, cuts short
breeze, divides still water, and settles
deep in the silence of the little pond beneath

It is not the tawdry light of the mind
where still limbs, still torso, still breath pull close -
become justified - where truth is vulnerable to age

Nor is it the light of secret gardens, of mists
unsettling and godless clarity eclipsing everything

An illusive bat mapping shady new worlds
by shriek and wail.  The old owl's careful murders
These fears swoop in the cool of night

But this raven comes with the light.  Hopping and strutting
Gently tip tap tapping.  Its black glint encumbering
ornamental cherry trees, beach and oaks with ease

And it brings the white-hot light of fear.  The clarity of danger
The fat weight of doubt that lingers near
The crack in peace.  The spark of both death and change

Memorable Dreams

Similar to my last song, this song is also in 7/4 time.  It uses a pattern 3-1-3 for the versus.  I currently plan to have a series of songs using the 7/4 meter.  I have written 6 songs at this time and I am slowly releasing them.  They will all be on this playlist as they are released:

Mysteries in the Garden


Verse 1:
There are many mysteries in my garden
I look at the plants that are growing
I don’t know what this is and that is
Do I pull them or is there a pardon
Might it be something I love so glowing
Something with lots of pop and fizz

I want my vegetables to be free to grow
They give me such a wondrous glow
I want them to spread their yield
I feel like a farmer in a great field
Eating their bounty is my great pleasure
It is something that I so treasure

Chorus:
I don’t know all of these little plants
Growing there in the dirt with ants
There are only a few I recognize
When they are tall they don’t tell lies
The tomato and carrot look so familiar 
I don’t need a book or special filter

Verse 2:
The books show examples of different plants
Like other books tell about how to dance
I wish I could separate all of the things growing
It would give me a sense that I am glowing

Is the plant something I want to later eat
Perhaps cook in a stew with some fine meat
I don’t want them killing the plants I love
Smothering them with their in grip of glove

The Saddest Play Of The Year

Volt5000 (@volt5000) I are now glad to present our collaborative version of my recent track "The Moonlit Snow-White Mountain" (https://soundcloud.com/alexander-mihailov-96713983/the-moonlit-snow-white-mountain). It will be the 2nd track in our single under the title "Disturbed Planet", which we intend to release on SoundClound later on 2021. We hope you'll enjoy this longer, more varied, version of ours too! Volt5000 has added vocal samples from MAGIX, and extended beautifully the initial track into rhythmic but also relaxing developments.

The artwork cover, that will also be used for our single and its two constituent tracks, is based on a photo taken by Alex M on 8 August 2020 and then cropped and annotated by Alex M (in Mac OS Preview) on 10 January 2021.

Created in collaboration on 25 and 27 December 2020 (initial mix and recording in GarageBand iOS and Logic Pro X by Alex M) and 27 January 2021 (final mix and recording in MAGIX by Volt5000), and posted on SC on 28 January 2021 (by Alex M).
