Mysteries in the Garden


Verse 1:
There are many mysteries in my garden
I look at the plants that are growing
I don’t know what this is and that is
Do I pull them or is there a pardon
Might it be something I love so glowing
Something with lots of pop and fizz

I want my vegetables to be free to grow
They give me such a wondrous glow
I want them to spread their yield
I feel like a farmer in a great field
Eating their bounty is my great pleasure
It is something that I so treasure

Chorus:
I don’t know all of these little plants
Growing there in the dirt with ants
There are only a few I recognize
When they are tall they don’t tell lies
The tomato and carrot look so familiar 
I don’t need a book or special filter

Verse 2:
The books show examples of different plants
Like other books tell about how to dance
I wish I could separate all of the things growing
It would give me a sense that I am glowing

Is the plant something I want to later eat
Perhaps cook in a stew with some fine meat
I don’t want them killing the plants I love
Smothering them with their in grip of glove

I am Dan Lockhart/ProgRockDan.  I am half of the duo Dan X2.  I enjoy making music with my partner Dan Blackard.  I was born in East St. Louis, Illinois.  I was raised in a rural area near Edwardsville, Illinois.  I have lived in San Antonio, Texas; Bad, Kreuznach, Germany;  Kansas City, Missouri; Columbus, Georgia; Haverhill Massachusetts;  St, Louis, Missouri, and Indianapolis, Indiana.  I have resided in Carmel Indiana for the past 20 + years.  I consider this home.  I have a small studio in my home.  I go to it everyday and work on creating (writing) songs.  I play bass, guitar, banjo, mandolin, pedal steel, piano, violin, and viola.  I use Cubase for my DAW.  I master using Izotope, Ozone.
