Created this tune in the style of a favorite guitarist Jeff Beck, whose music with Jan Hammer has been a leading influence on my synth and keyboard playing.  All done with keyboards here....

Created this tune to combine elements of rock and fusion, and was looking to set up soloing similar to what John McLaughlin and Jeff Beck did with Jan Hammer. This one is quite a crazy funky fusion track! A great bass player Mirko Borach aka Stringburner(https://soundcloud.com/stringburner )came up with the idea to cover this track by Los Lobotomys, a fusion group that was formed by Steve Lukather in 1989 with some of his friends and talented players, like David Garfield.
Mirko asked Jamie Rhind (https://soundcloud.com/jamie-rhind) and me to join on this one to complete the blend. Jamie brought his Miles' oriented synths, I brought my loud and funk rhythm guitars. We reworked the original, added different sounds and flavours to it, turning it into "Entanglement".  All of us have one solo spot around the main theme. Quite interesting is the turn of events with a more quiet interlude after the guitar solo, something we just had to keep in from the original.

Anyways! We hope to entertain you with this cover of a great fusion track and band. Do check them out if you don't know them already! Los Lobotomys...

It is a special treat for me to have Anthony Chessells  https://soundcloud.com/anthony-chessells join me on this jazz rock original.  Anthony is from Melbourne, Australia, is one of my favorite guitarists on SoundCloud, and one of the very finest of the many I have recorded with here.  If you love serious musicianship and a progressive guitar sound, Anthony is one player that you just must follow.

I first heard Anthony and was floored by his compositions, by his superb rhythm, his sense of melody and harmony, and for the energy that he brings to each of his tunes.   This is a player who has deep understanding of music and recording, and an appreciation of progressive drums, keyboards and fusion.   You may remember Anthony's outstanding solo on my recent Miles Davis tribute For Miles, and he here has added so much harmony, sound and superb soloing to our collaboration of Flying High.   Take this one through to the end ... it is a special tune for us.  Thinking you will really enjoy it.

Al is one of the most talented and soulful jazz guitarists I've every played with, and he brings so much to this new original Long Time Coming. Al's shared the stage and performed with guys like Herbie Hancock, Charles Earland, Wynton Marsalis, and Anita Baker, and studied with Pat Metheny and others.  Super talented in digital marketing, super creative and also has a world class knowledge of guitars, and as positive a person as I have ever met.  The real deal.  Currently Al is back from an extended tour of India with his wife Stacey Lynn Schulman, a jazz vocalist extraordinare, and perform regularly together in and around New York City. So much fun here with Stephan Lipinski and Paul Racle as we blow through some Alpine Grooving.  Our blues original set's Paul's fine bass line down, with Pinner knowing just what to do.  Paul is one of the most creative and inspiring voices here, producing so much fine music that bends genres and nails them too.  We all owe him a big thanks for vast collection of music he has recorded to inspire others to join and create.  Sweet bass grooving from him here!  
Stephan is a hired gun too, and we've done over 50 tunes together so far, yet have not met:). But we will and that will be an important party!  Can't wait to do the same in Zurich, Paul.  You know that:)))

Upperground Orchestra is the hybrid Jazz band of Rabih Beaini and his fellow musicians Tommaso Cappellato (drums), Piero Bittolo Bon (woodwinds/electronics) and Alvise Seggi (Bass / Oud). The band is returns with a new LP, years after "The Eupen Tapes". Euganea is a 5 tracks LP recorded during the Musica Veneta residency, promoted by FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano) in the great context of Villa dei Vescovi. Working around Veneto music, the band developed pieces that merge deep roots of original fusion (tape music, electronics and synths, processing) with the free spiritual jazz sound of Upperground Orchestra.

Rocksteady Disco is extremely excited to release this multi-faceted EP from one of American dance music’s most prolific musical minds: JKriv. First up, is “Aguaxirê”— a deep Afro-Brazilian house cut in praise of the Yoruban orisha Oya. Full of moody Detroit-style pads, driving percussion, acid basslines, live trumpet (performed by Escort mainstay Nathan Warner), and an expertly plucked sample, this 9 minute odyssey is crafted for ecstatic dance floor use. Moving to the B side, we hear J rework the música popular brasileira classic “Ive Brussel” into a pool-side day party anthem, complete with a full overdub of the bassline by J with his Fender Jazz bass. Following that is a traditional deejay edit of “Deep Cove View”, a breezy and chilled out Brazilian jazz fusion cut with plenty of piano, slap bass, and vocal scatting. J flexes his production, performance, and arrangement prowess here, delivering 3 tracks ready for the party, the after hours, or the after-after hours.

Jazz/Fusion keyboard player, composer and producer.  Marketing, advertising, publishing and sales career.  Originally from Chicago, where I developed a strong appreciation for the blues and classical, and moved to New York, where jazz and the fine arts are so deep.  Key musical influences include Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Zawinul and Weather Report, Chick Corea and Return to Forever, John McLaughlin and the Mahivishnu Orchestra, Stanley Clarke, Scott Henderson and Tribal Tech, Jeff Beck and Jan Hammer, Mike Stern, John Scofield, Pat Metheny, Emily Remler, McCoy Tyner, Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Jimmy Smith, Joey DeFrancesco, Larry Young, Buddy Guy, Santana and Earth Wind & Fire.
