He Said " I only wanted to be known as a composer"  in his later years. those who got to see his play with Brian Auger at the Sour Grapes were so lucky. This is the 3rd song Bitzone, Frawstakwa, and I have worked on together for my CKP page. I wanted this latest track to continue with the electronic hip hop vibe we had established with our previous two tracks.  Bitzone dug into his rich production archive and found a beat 10 years deep that met the criteria. This time I sent the track first to Frawstakwa to switch things up, since the last two songs I had started off. Frawstakwa came up with these deep metaphysical verse and chorus lyrics and I added a literal interpretation with my verse that I hoped would complement his meaning while keeping in theme with the previous two tracks. Bitzone then worked his magic and transformed the track into an electronic hip hop rock fusion. And then for a final surprise, he asked Joerxworx to join in with some futuristic EWI. In the end, I like that this track is different from It Ain’t Looking Good and Trendsetting and I think it points at a possible new direction for the next track we all work on together.

The background for the inspiration of course is Homer and the tales on the Trojan war. But Kassandra does not tell a story – it’s a kind of a painting with an ancient scenery or maybe just a sketch: Kassandra in front of the burning city. And it could be a modern painting. We are in a distance of more than 3.000 years to the plot of the ancient tales – and still mankind has Kassandras and tears in front of burning cities.

Working on Kassandra i had in mind from the beginning that Cindy will take the main voc in this song. So i wrote the harmonies and the song structure with that in mind and i love how she sings the song. Kassandra also includes a few notes played with a Greek Baglamas and helps the song to get a special note. This string instrument is the small sister of a Bouzouki.

This is the second song posted from the album Bitzone, Stricknice, Wou-Wou & the Wormling, and I have been working on together with a number of other friends on SoundCloud. The first song shared was the late 80s indie American underground inspired song, Ghosting Out, that include Bonetender joining with his transistor organ and guitar. The Show / The Shrike Pt. 3 is one of the 4 songs on the album inspired by Wou-Wou & the Wormling’s graphic novel, the Shrike, which inspired this project. 

Massive thanks to Carlos Vivanco and Belial Pelegrim for joining us on this track. This is the 2nd song Belial has joined me on and the first song I have had the privilege of working with Carlos on. We have had another magic invite from Mamoru, and Jamie and I have had a lot of fun working with him on this fab classic. It came together quite quickly, as we all felt a lot of empathy with the song and Mamoru's arrangement.
When I finished the vocals, I realised I had sung "take a chance" instead of "shake a hand" on the last line of the second verse..lol.. we left it in!

Like the short lyrics' meaning "love has no hurry", music makes contrasts on rhythms and textures even inside each part: Main theme starts with fast drums on slow melodies & has a DANCEABLE? 2nd part with lead bass guitar; Central theme makes fast tracks become slow to the left channel and vice-versa, progressing to a POST-ROCK? atmosphere. Meanwhile, two lead guitars and echoing voices complete the contrasting piece. I hope to get your feedback !!!

Honor The Tide - With Jonathan Beckenstein

I spent two years making Punto Ártica album as a whole, and I mostly played my mom’s Spanish guitar in the spare time. This theme and chords got shape with time, without any plan, in some different variations I’ve tried to remember and craft here.

Even a 7/4 vocal section had come up. In the spirit of this new profile, I asked Codi (https://soundcloud.com/noisealter) to adapt my translation of a poem I wrote when my age was about 1/3 than now (see below), and he also sung it with the passion and delivery I was looking for !!

This is the 3rd original song that DeeP. and I worked on together. I really appreciate his experimental yet accessible dark and soulful production work. I like how his music allows me to touch on topics that I normally wouldn’t write about if I were leading the music production. I have been reflecting on how it is important to stretch and grow and try new things. DeeP.’s music really helps me to achieve this goal and his mixing and mastering really brings out the best in me. 

I wanted this song to fit in thematically with the other 2 songs we worked on but I felt the music wanted me to expand the range of subject matter. Therefore, I went gothic and took my cues from gothic literature, such as The Castle of Otranto and Frankenstein, and tried to channel those literary elements into a pop song. For the subject matter I was also reflecting on how psychic connections and empathy can be draining unless one develops and maintains skills to remain grounded and whole. 

It is so fun to make music with musicians one admires. SoundCloud is the best place to be a fan. Both Phil McWalter and Nathalie B20 are SoundCloud legends and incredibly talented and prolific musicians who I have listened to for years now. I feel super honored to have finally gotten the chance to make music with these giants. I hope they had fun as well!!!

I think a lot of us of can agree that we have done a number of embarrassing, silly and downright stupid things in our lives. Somehow, when looking back, I end up laughing at the memories, and often time simply erases every trace of an event. For me, it’s the things I didn’t do and say that cause the rueful moments. Dedicating this song to my wife - I should tell her I love her more often.

From a musical perspective I reused the instrumentation from my collaborative effort “Feline Fever” with REKHA. I readily admit that this song is heavily influenced by Iggy Pop's "Beside You". I am also trying out a warmer more natural way of producing my vocal.
