'The mix moves through a tapestry of shades and moods - it is an extension of what I consider as ‘soul music’. As a selector, I have always been interested in the liminal, the in-between spaces, and how different genres of music can intersect with each other. It is at once intuitive and spatial, and that ongoing exploration never ceases to amaze. Here'z yet another dope mixtape by the legendary Frankie Knuckles. I know I said this b4, but I like how Frankie transitioned musically when he moved back 2 NYC from Chi-Town. I prefer his NYC style because his style in Chicago was great but 2 many DJ'z played the same songs & when Frankie went back 2 NYC, he cultivated a style of House that only came from him. And all the other NYC DJ'z played their own way & somehow it seemed like there was a lot more music being distributed in NYC. But I must say that Chicago got their dose of rare Italian Disco that didn't get very far from the wallz of Chicago.
In any case, enjoy this musical trip,
