Mattia Prete has been at the heart of Techno Jazz a new musical movement where the freeform improvisation and instrumentation of jazz meets the futuristic and hypnotic mechanics of techno. Prete has been working in this niche as a DJ, live performer and producer, but also as manager of Jazz-o-Tech, the innovative and well-known label based in Berlin and Milan that is home to many upcoming visionary talents.

Prete now lays out his unique vision of Techno Jazz on a first EP under his own name for Jazz-o-Tech itself. Three of the forward-thinking tracks are collaborations with musicians Prete admires and respects, and one is a remix from Reeko the Spanish techno producer.

After releasing Silent Rain EP as part of Beat Movement duo, Prete now fully steps out with a bold representation of his take on the fascinating techno-jazz sound. It is cinematic and expansive, heady yet physical, and builds bridges between the famous Berlin sound and the exciting new developments happening in his native Italian scene.

'Moon, Please Don't Go Away' with composer and multi-instrumentalist Alberto Fiori pairs heavy, spacious bass hits with a rousing lead synth. It is epic, suggestive, and a real call to arms before the pummeling kick drums charge into cosmic battle. 'The Bright Side' with the great French trans-jazz band Bada-Bada slowly but surely gets you in a trance. The drums are powerful and liner, but the jazz sax up top is loose and liquid. It unfolds with increasing tension before the energy dissipates and you're left adrift in space next and the sax returns as a more friendly presence. Mattia then links with jazz pianist Uri Gincel and producer and guitar player Daniel Calvi for 'Burning Man,' which was previously a part of the This is Techno Jazz Vol. 1 compilation and is a deep, dark and brooding track full of eerie suspense.

Daniel Calvi is also the collaborator on 'Stein'. It is a track dense with ideas - the train-track drums, the tortured keys, the waves of synth, then a stunning acoustic guitar solo that brings beauty and hope. Last of all, dark industrial techno maestro Reeko remixes 'Stein' into a thumping and cavernous groove with twisted synths that drag you into a dystopian future.

This is a landmark EP from an artist who is helping to take techno into innovative new realms.

The Jazz-o-Tech label serves up a second volume of „This is Techno Jazz“ which again lays out a clear sonic statement. 
This double album is a deep dive into the label‘s carefully nurtured sound with music from artists all over Europe. 
What unites this label and its broad array of artists is a desire to fuse the traditional improvisation of jazz with the avant-garde experimentalism of techno. Over the last couple of years, it has done that to critical acclaim with a series of innovative EPs and LPs from artists all over Europe. Some are studio wizards, some are jazz trained musicians, all are cooking up fresh new sounds that push the boundaries of electronic and acoustic music further than ever. 
This collection once again proves that jazz and techno belong together as it takes you on a roller coaster ride through many fascinating fusions. Jazz-O-Tech is a label that draws on the rich heritage of two of the most visionary and experimental genes in mu- sic: jazz and techno. Mattia Prete returns to Jazz-o-Tech with a new EP that emphasises the power of collaboration. His dark, abstract Eruption EP blends electronic and jazz sounds and features musicians from the label roster across five edgy tracks. Prete has been expanding his musical horizons in recent years. After building a solid foundation in techno, he has begun to work across a wider world of electronic and organic sounds while also working closely with formally trained
musicians, plenty of whom feature on this EP.

'Solar Approach' ft Alegros rides on rubbery kick drums and has sweeping chords that reach up to the sky where twinkling melodies awake. There's a halfway switch up when breakbeats change the groove and sombre trumpets sweep across the mix.

Jazz-o-Tech is a label that draws on the rich heritage of two of the most visionary and experimental genes in music: jazz and techno. Modal Miles EP

The Berlin based duo Flat Maze embodies the essence of the concept of Techno-Jazz. 
Their mix between the instrumental solos of jazz piano talent Uri Gincel and the deep techno grooves of producer Stefano Mori, results in an innovative signature sound which perfectly fits the artistic manifesto of label Jazz-o-Tech.

The title track "Dick Dunker" is a smooth blend betweeen the inspiring jazz harmonizations and the  dance rhythms that create a perfect combination of sounds, addicted for radio programmings and dance clubs.
 Similarly "Room 111" and "Vollnarkose" are two powerful statements of Flat Maze vision where the harmonies and solos of Uri's piano fill the abstract spaces created by Stefano's synths and drum machines.

Flat Maze duo featured also in "White Gardenia vol 1", the first vinyl EP released by Jazz-o-Tech that has been supported by:  Rai Radio 3 (IT), Jet Set Tokyo (JP), Avopolis Music Network (GR), Studio Brussel (BS), 808 Radio (SP), Radio Krimi (FR).

Born in Tel-Aviv, jazz pianist Uri Gincel came to Berlin in 2009 and quickly became one of the most in demand piano players on the scene, Uri toured the world with many projects, including "Uri Gincel Trio” and “Bonaparte”. 
Only in the last couple of years Uri started working with electronic music, and has recorded and preformed with Bruno Pronsato and the electronic duo “Tyoma", combinating their art with important collaboration like Matthew Herbert.
Stefano Mori is an italian music producer, visual artist and live performer based in Berlin. With his solo project, Stefano also known as Elephant Kodex, release under the independent German Label Fucksklang record and play around Berlin with different dj collectives (Mechatronica, Drei Groschen Disko).
Jazz-o-Tech's is a new record label based between Berlin and Milan.
The label's signature style is an elegant combination of improvisation, acoustic “live” sounds and electronic music grooves mixed between jazz and techno music, promoting experimentation and eliminating  boundaries between two forms of avant-garde, electronic music and Jazz.

Jazz-O-Tech Records introduces a new release series on the label by the name of Black Gardenia.
If the White Gardenia series combines mystic jazz music with deep tech electronic grooves, Black Gardenia’s intends to associate it with the roots of techno. The first output “Black Gardenia Vol. 1” is composed by Berlin-based duo BEAT MOVEMENT.

The duo presents an unusual, psychedelic and moving techno jazz EP in collaboration with techno pioneer Sunil Sharpe, Italian saxophonist and composer Gianni Mimmo and the jazz quartet Gamapawa.

Black Gardenia is a mesmerizing aesthetic sound experience, taking the listener on abstract journeys and into cinematic sceneries. The title track “Silent Rain” opens the A-side with a soft and emotional fusion of drones and saxophone, followed by the sovereign and psychedelic slow groove of the track “Aphex Twin shot my neck”. The B-side is a dancefloor killer combination between Sunil Sharpe’s intelligent techno remix of “Silent Rain” and Gamapawa’s featuring track “Untitled Reconstruction”, where drums and saxophone reach the speed of 150 bpm.
