Mattia Prete has been at the heart of Techno Jazz a new musical movement where the freeform improvisation and instrumentation of jazz meets the futuristic and hypnotic mechanics of techno. Prete has been working in this niche as a DJ, live performer and producer, but also as manager of Jazz-o-Tech, the innovative and well-known label based in Berlin and Milan that is home to many upcoming visionary talents.

Prete now lays out his unique vision of Techno Jazz on a first EP under his own name for Jazz-o-Tech itself. Three of the forward-thinking tracks are collaborations with musicians Prete admires and respects, and one is a remix from Reeko the Spanish techno producer.

After releasing Silent Rain EP as part of Beat Movement duo, Prete now fully steps out with a bold representation of his take on the fascinating techno-jazz sound. It is cinematic and expansive, heady yet physical, and builds bridges between the famous Berlin sound and the exciting new developments happening in his native Italian scene.

'Moon, Please Don't Go Away' with composer and multi-instrumentalist Alberto Fiori pairs heavy, spacious bass hits with a rousing lead synth. It is epic, suggestive, and a real call to arms before the pummeling kick drums charge into cosmic battle. 'The Bright Side' with the great French trans-jazz band Bada-Bada slowly but surely gets you in a trance. The drums are powerful and liner, but the jazz sax up top is loose and liquid. It unfolds with increasing tension before the energy dissipates and you're left adrift in space next and the sax returns as a more friendly presence. Mattia then links with jazz pianist Uri Gincel and producer and guitar player Daniel Calvi for 'Burning Man,' which was previously a part of the This is Techno Jazz Vol. 1 compilation and is a deep, dark and brooding track full of eerie suspense.

Daniel Calvi is also the collaborator on 'Stein'. It is a track dense with ideas - the train-track drums, the tortured keys, the waves of synth, then a stunning acoustic guitar solo that brings beauty and hope. Last of all, dark industrial techno maestro Reeko remixes 'Stein' into a thumping and cavernous groove with twisted synths that drag you into a dystopian future.

This is a landmark EP from an artist who is helping to take techno into innovative new realms.

February's episode for ANOMIA show, it is a pleasure to invite and present Berlin based DJ TAKAKO. 
Hailing from Japan, TAKAKO was previously a member of ラズマタズ白書, an event/AV collective based in Fukuoka consisting of women only DJs and artists, who kept their scene fresh by hosting a steady string of monthly parties focusing on local DJs.
To continue pursuing her growing passion for sound, Takako re-located to Berlin where she currently studies sound design. As a DJ she is known for presenting genre bending selections of thrilling beat, texture percussive , psy and pure gabbar.

Ukrainian artist Bohdan Linchevskіy (23), known as Low Communication, began his career producing techno and electro as Skylined. His new project blends various electronic influences, from ambient to krautrock and lo-fi to orchestral, aiming to evoke specific emotions. His latest album, "Just Another Day," released on Mabui Music after a breakup, gained recognition from Inverted Audio and Radio Kapital. Linchevskіy prefers studio work, using VST plugins and authentic sounds to achieve high-quality analog results. Low Communication's unique sound defies genre boundaries, leading to both rejection and recognition. He believes genuine passion attracts an appreciative audience and avoids plagiarism while drawing inspiration from other artists.

"We Should Leave the Earth," is an 8 tracks album which offers a unique and immersive listening experience that's both grounded in recognizable styles and reaching for the stars. Low Communication's new album combines electronic and orchestral elements, creating an uplifting, space-inspired experience. It blends cinematic orchestrations with energetic rhythms, featuring catchy beats and vibrant melodies. Influenced by classic house music, it incorporates smooth rhythms and uplifting synths in a carefree atmosphere. The result is an energizing soundscape that transports listeners beyond Earth, balancing familiar dance elements with cosmic-themed audio landscapes.

Artist note: This album explores the journey of two people who fall in love and initially feel out of place on Earth. After much deliberation, they decide to leave the planet. They ascend into the sky and escape Earth's orbit, only to discover that space is a daunting and unfamiliar environment. Time loses meaning, and fear of the unknown future overwhelms them. Ultimately, they realize that the infinite space they romanticized in books and films exists within each person. This epiphany leads them to return home, developing a deeper appreciation for our planet in the process.
