After a 10 year legacy on the beach in Bophut, Koh Samui, GECKO BAR is now perched atop the mountainside in Bohput Hills. Boasting stunning views of the rolling jungle covered hillside and the gulf of Thailand, an infinity pool, great food, fantastic sound system and unrivalled, easy going hospitality this is a truly special place.

GECKO BAR has played host to some of house musics most revered luminaries over the years, djs including (to name but a few) MARSHALL JEFFERSON, CLIVE HENRY, SMOKIN' JO, JO MILLS, GRAEME PARK and DANNY RAMPLING.
Following a tough couple of years that has seen GECKO BAR destroyed by fire in Oct 2009 and then rebuilt we are now back in business and ready to regain our stature, standing, respect and become, once again, a major driving force for international cutting edge music and artists to showcase in Thailand.

Paul Shaw began DJing in 1995, playing at numerous venues and holding residencies in the north west of England and his native Birmingham throughout the late 90's. Heavily influenced by the classic deep British house sound of Paper Recordings, Nuphonic and 20:20 Vision among others, he became known for fusing deep hypnotic grooves with percussive Chicago tracks, early acid house and traditional US garage. Now operating out of Birmingham UK, he produces under his own name for disco influenced house, with a recent release on Paper Disco, also producing more minimal tracks under the name 'Define' on Michigan label Intimate Venues Recordings.
