For Volume 17 of our mix series we are proud to present Native Boundaries artists, Fleksor. Bjorn is inspired in equal parts by the frenetic culture-jamming of 2010’s club music, and the highly curated psychedelia of Seattle’s all-night techno parties. 

Fleksor creates club-ready tracks with an ear for texture and syncopation. He is a long time contributor to the 320 RIP compilation series, with past releases on Main Course Records, Snø Recordings and Knightwerk among others. “I had fun pulling from my 2010s club music crates on this one from around when I first was playing out, and blending that with more recent bass music and electro”

We are very excited to announce a new chapter in our journey. Here we are blazing a new trail, making our way to document and leave a first class record of sound design, Field Recording and cutting edge electronic music made in Sur América. We present our first album, 'Desde los oídos de un sapo', by our favourite amphibian, a man ahead of his time, the Uruguayan Lechuga Zafiro.

"How could I call it my sound if I had not found it myself?"

States the artist, who finished forging his outstanding musical identity on the basis of field recordings. Metal, wood, plastic, glass, rock, toads, birds, sea lions, pigs and water (in its various forms) captured in Uruguay, El Salvador, Chile, China, Argentina and Portugal, coexist and exchange harmonic and dynamic properties. By altering, editing, or simply letting the sounds manifest themselves, Lechuga generates a wide and complex rhythmic-timbral universe. These are 7 tracks that never cease to have a consistency and a fierce character. Lechuga's debut album is a milestone in Latin electronic music. This document opens a new territory, one so genuine and challenging, so real and fertile, that we are confident it will be a must-have anywhere on the planet. This collaboration is our new contribution to the mission of contemplation, so please stop, come to this frog's ear, to feel with both Pablo and us.

A home recreation of a DJ set performed at MENT Festival in Ljubljana in February 2024. I tried to recreate it from memory after the recording of the original set was lost. The result naturally has a bit less soul, flavor and swing, but the essence is there. It is a slow-burning psychedelic soundscape turning heavier and angrier as it pummels forward. Slow to the point of discomfort, it allows for repeated desintegration of flow.

It has mostly been a frustrating year for me on many levels, but luckily there is always music in my life. On that aspect I am feeling more stronger, confident and hungry than ever.
There is always room for improvement, but I feel like I am able to express myself more and more, step by step. My own sound is starting to take shape. It is a rocky and lonely road at times, but what rests is to be grateful for what I have in life. On that note I would like to express my gratitude for all the people that let me be me, unapologetically. My family and friends first and foremost. Operator for giving me a platform and this warm community in a cold city. I also would like to thank them for booking me for one of their events, together with all the other lot that took the chance to actually book me. S/O to all the people that invited me on their shows/streams, it is really appreciated. And most importantly, a massive S/O to all the artists that created the soundtrack to my life and these Late Horizons, ustedes saben quiénes son.
I will take matters into my own hands, exciting stuff on the Horizon. Having more guests on next year, and I will try to expand into a club night at some point. Who knows what else. Chau for now, un abrazo!
