So, endlich habe ich es geschafft, mir das neuste Sieckmann'sche Meisterwerk zu Gemüte zu führen. Und das war ein wahrer Genuss! Man merkt, dass Du mit dem Orchester wieder in Deiner Paradedisziplin unterwegs bist. Die Entwicklung des Themas über die verschiedenen Stimmungen ist der Hammer! Ebenso die zahlreichen, akribischen Details wie flirrende Flöten, kleine Kontramelodieeinwürfe der Bläser und Streicherläufe. Ich bin mal wieder begeistert! :-D

Ein atmosphärischer, klanglich gut durchdachter Track – „Elarion’s Odyssey“ lädt zum Träumen ein und entfaltet sich mit ruhiger Kraft. Sehr schön komponiert! 🎶❤️🎶

This song was originally intended to be sung. In the end we were unable to match the meaning of the lyrics with that of the music. Pefhaps one day we will take it up again. In the meantime, here is the instrumental version.

One Glimpse of a Whirlpool

I once went horse riding not far from the Canadian border in Washington State. Cowboy hat, chaps, the lot. The guy in front yanked his horse's reins when it started to eat grass, causing it to kick backwards hitting my horse... which set off at a gallop. Yee ha! Unfortunately, the expedition leader was cross, accusing me of showing off! Nevertheless, it was exhilarating.

Story:

Elarion follows the call of adventure to save his village from a dark manace that may only be overcome with the help of a magical artefact. He leaves his beloved wife Kira and travels through deep forests, dreadful swamps and dark mountains until he reaches a mysterious cave.

Seemingly uninhabited he soon faces the creatures of the underground, some curious, some frightened, some threatening. The artefact is guarded by sentinals who are defending it with their lives. Elarion is able to steal it and is chased constantly throughout the whole kingdom. But he finally reaches the village and defeats the ominous threat.

Music:

In this purely orchestral track I tried my best to establish a memorable theme that I developed throughout the piece. It starts sad and melancholic, then bold for the adventure part. In the cave it is reharmonized in a dark and suspenseful manner.

After an action sequence, further variations follow, orchestrated with choir und brass. Again, an adventurous and heroic part with trumpet and horns is next. After a softer part with strings and woodwinds, the choir comes in and leads into a climactic finale with the theme played by strings in octaves.

ThE SToRM-A1 (WaVeS Of SuMuD)

Lover of orchestral film scores and epic music.

I had started making music in the 90s with my Amiga 500 but it wasn't capable (me neither) of producing the sound of a whole orchestra.

The diverse musical expressions in filmscores have a bigger emotional impact than any other genre I can think of. My music is heavily inspired by the great composers around 1980-2000, like John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner, Basil Poledouris and Hans Zimmer.

With synthesizers, a whole new world of sound has entered the arena and merges with the orchestra to a fantastic sonic experience.

I try to tell stories and convey emotions in my pieces to take you onto a journey into unknown territory.
