Ukkonen Wish for the top spot -- 𝚐𝚎𝚝𝚂𝙲𝚙𝚛𝚘

The recording of the mix I made for @lowless-music's Rinse France show on the 30th of September 2022. 

I wanted this mix to be a kind of part-2 to the show I did at The Lot Radio in NY back in February in 2020 (if any of you remember that one - https://soundcloud.com/syberkid/thelotradio).

Basically, another mix journeying through hazy-deep-broken-strange music. I have a playlist under that name, where anything that feels like this lives, and as we head back towards colder weather, it’s these tunes I’m reaching for.

The mix criss-crosses through deep techno, inquisitive percussion, lazybreaks, slowed-dubstep, and ye I dunno, some gnarly alien noises? The main thing I wanted to capture is a central sort of frazzled feeling around the edges of the sounds, and a morphing gelatinous groove which feels like it could fractalise in unexpected directions.

This set was such a special one to us both, Stone Techno took place near Essen in Germany in a beautiful Unesco site. 
On top of the decors being so breathtaking the energy of the crowd was totally unmatched!

NTS ~ GiGi FM B2B Altinbas At Stone Techno Festival 2024

DSS 092 is one that has been brewing for a long time. We finally got our hands on a Kuba'97 masterclass.

Ever in search of the trance dance experience, Kuba '97 turns crowds into tribes with deep hypnotic sounds. Energy flows in and out of bodies, with frequencies encouraging introspection and a communal sense on the dance floor.

The trance dance experience is characterised by the sounds of contemporary psychedelics and '90s tribal techno. Never ending spiralling grooves framed by dreamy shamanic chimes.

About his set, Kobe tells us:
“Music spanning over five decades and gathered in one. This podcast is dedicated to a number of people and places that I’ve had the chance to connect with over the years. It ranges from ‘70 Japanese library recordings to contemporary deep techno cuts all adding to the spirit of Deep Space Series. The first conversations about this podcast started over two years ago and slowly the idea began to take shape. Just like the process, the recording is far from rushed and grows step by step.“

My live set from Kaista UG in Tampere, Finland

Serving my organic and deep sound, I combined some hypnotic rhythms with dub swells and MENA flavours. It was a somewhat genre-fluid live set filled with improvisation and journeying to the depths of the grooves. I managed to squeeze in a couple of mishaps here and there but it's all in the game...

This was also a special night in the eve of the Finnish independence day, celebrating independent producers and live acts. What an honor it was to be a part of it!
