Inspired by a legend from the contryside of Venezuela and Colombia. "Bolefuego" is the spirit of a woman that was burned alive in her home, along with her two children due to her inmoral behavior. She attacks travelers. Those facing her are advised not to pray; unlike other evil entities, the Bolefuego is attracted by prayers.

Instrumentation: two marimbas, two vibraphones, two glockenspiels and a bass marimba.

After completing my doctorate in composition in 1979 from UNT, I took 30 years off from composing to join the computer software revolution as a software engineer.  In 2010 I began composing again and have not stopped. So, I find myself beginning (restarting?) a composition career rather late in life...but that's OK.  Most of the works posted here were written since 2010.

Venezuelan composer graduated from the Master in Latin American Musicology of the Central University of Venezuela and the Conservatory of Lyon. He has studied composition with Christophe Maudot, Stéphane Borrel, Alfredo Del Monaco, Diana Arismendi, Adina Izarra, Gerardo Gerulewics, among others. He has participated in master classes and lectures by William Bolcom, Richard Dubugnon, Robert Normandeau, José Manuel López López, Jean-Marc Duchenne. He has also received various awards and honorary mentions in national competitions of composition and musicology and his music has been selected in several international festivals such as the ICMC 2021 (Chile), VI Festival de Música Electroacústica(Chile), Festival Espace du son 2020 (Belgium), MUSLAB 2020 (Mexico), II Festival Expresiones Contemporáneas 2020 (Mexico), I Festival Atemporanea 2019 (Argentina), at the JNME 2019 as part of the XL MANCA festival (France), the Latin American Music Festival 2016 (Venezuela), among others. His acousmatic work "Desde adentro" was a finalist at the Concours Métamorphoses 2020.
