DJ and producer, GON, is an Ableton Live extraordinaire based out of Richmond, VA, summoning eclectic and energetic environments with seamless transitions and dynamic beats. With an unmatched love for dnb and noticeable influences such as global bass, hip-hop, and world rhythms, he is sure to leave dance enthusiasts and event goers satisfied with his multifaceted and spirited sets. He believes that no genre should be left behind, and translates that love of variety into audio adventures through mind and heart.

Having opened for notoriously impressive artists such as Dieselboy, Infected Mushroom, and ZEE, GON has an admirable oeuvre that reflects his knowledge of and current journey through the worlds of music and composition. His musical creativity has taken many forms, and blossomed with his discovery of Ableton. GON founded Project Chalk in Wilmington, NC, and developed further as a DJ and producer while creating artistic opportunities for local communities and other artists. He eventually connected with the Party Liberation Front and expanded his artistic network up the east coast, relocating to RVA.

In addition to his musical and artistic endeavors, GON is a respected community leader, talented event organizer, responsible and knowledgeable flame effect technician, and dedicated artist and teacher who enjoys combining his talents into unforgettable and exciting experiences for everyone to enjoy. He is the President and Event Liaison for the Party Liberation Foundation Non-Profit, and has seen to the organizations recent growth by spearheading multiple events and fundraisers since early 2018. He is a Theme Camp Organizer for his community at sanctioned regional Burning Man events such as Transformus and Ignite, and has also held leadership positions for large-scale for-profit events such as FLAME Festival, Fahrenheit, and Naughty Snowball. He has shown unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community, the Black Lives Matter movement, femme inclusion, and trans rights, and is known to include messages of consent culture and indiscriminate empowerment in his mixes.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.

Digital creative type, gamer, music lover and occasional DJ. Currently living between Dubai & Seoul after setting sail from Sunderland in 2010. As a young designer, club and music culture was the driving force for his work, producing artwork for local club nights and record labels in the North East of England. In particular, DJ mix cds and their packaging were always his 'holy grail of design', especially those from Renaissance, Global Underground and Good Looking Records. There once was a dreamy-eyed lass and only punk rock and hardcore could make her shake her ass. One day she was walking around the block when she heard a boombox play hip hop. She started dancing and yelling YAAAAY but fell over and landed in a pile of dancehall-reggae. Reggae covered her eyes and face when she meandered into a basement playing drum and bass. This music made her dance and shake her back until she thought she'd have a heart attack. Then an unknown mysteriously deep bass sound led her into a secret room where dubstep was abound. Deciding she'd already fallen in love with enough musics in this one day, she finally went home and had dreams of getting thizz faced and riding the whip with Mac Dre. 

Going stoopid doo-doo dumb on the stage with the likes of Too Short, E-40, Mistah F.A.B., Rappin 4 Tay, Girl Talk, Freestyle Fellowship, and more, Smasheltooth intends to integrate inner-city raps with privileged producer slaps and spread musical butter over rumps across the globe in the name of Furl!
