Blue water :symphonic drone

“Third Passacaglia for String Orchestra” was completed in August, 2022 in Fairview, TX.  The work is in one movement. Performance time is about 10 minutes.

Performance notes:
•	Tempo, expression, and dynamic markings should be strictly observed.
•	There is no key signature. Accidentals apply to the end of the measure or to the note or notes tied over the measure, and only to notes of the same pitch class, in the same octave.
•	Hairpin pairs (e.g.: mp <>, mf ><) indicate a temporary volume change of one dynamic level.
•	Passages marked  fff  or ppp  indicate playing as loudly and as quietly as possible, respectively.
•	Double-bass “C-extension” is required.

the day slopes
down the hill
his residence rests on

the clouds in his gaze
match the clouds in the sky
as the winds gently shape them

he has a slow meal
within shifting structures
of people who rush by

stopped at a corner
he sees squatters evicted
from ivory lodgings

matching his steps

he rewrites the pavement

past the outskirts of town
he watches a beetle
scuttle along a fencepost

2 years after creating it and finally, Le Grand Pirouette, my composition, continues to evolve I believe!
As I have already mentioned, my purpose isn’t to record 0 mistakes, flawless, or even edited recordings BUT TO TAKE YOU ON THE JOURNEY from when it appears in my mind and my heart and then slowly emerges and shines in something new every time.

Jörg S. born in Cologne, from youth on, was fascinated by all kinds of art, so he taught himself the saxophone very early. Nowadays flutes of all kind are also part of the equipment, as are jaw harps, percussion, bass, guitars and keyboards.
He was and is always involved in many band projects and session events.
In the 80s he was a saxophonist in the Adam Noidlt Intermission Orchestra with gigs in Berlin, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Basel. Very early on he also worked as a writer with live readings in the Cologne area and was a painter with large formats for many years, all in addition to his job as a graphic designer. Now, retired, devoted solely to music: home recording with the platform of choice, Soundcloud and global collaborations.
