It’s been an interesting couple of years for Clive From Accounts. After being picked up by keen-eared funk wizards Fouk, Clive’s vinyl debut hit the shelves perfectly to coincide with the largest record shop and club closure in living memory. Undeterred and with a fire in his belly he pressed on and released a string of quality EPs on highly respected labels like On The Corner Records ( which made The Guardian’s best tracks of 2020) and Dirt Crew Recordings, leading him on to the second half of 2021 with an EP on Brooklyn’s disco colossus, Razor-N-Tape Reserve.

'After a long hiatus there finally is a new Junktion EP release on Outplay. As “Wide Awake EP” was released way back 2016 it was a long time coming!

The A-side consists of two amped up disco house treatments with “Just A Disco Thing” and “Real To Me”: stomping kicks and heavy basses together with disco goodness. While on the other side a more introspective aspect of Junktion comes to light in the form of the understated funkiness of “I Got Somebody” and dreamy melodies in “Tribute”.

As Junktion himself says: “We’ve been playing most of these tracks while touring as Fouk to great effect and it feels so good to get these out there on this release! They’re a tribute to the scene and everybody who has supported my music.”'

Toy Tonics come up with the LOST TOY TONICS MIXES EP. 
These tracks came out on Toy Tonics as digital releases or bonus tracks over the last years. 
As they had such great feedback, they now come together on a 4 track vinyl. 
Folamour’s remix of french producer Mangabey was one of their biggest stream hits  (4 mio. plays till now on Spotify). Demuja made a whole Toy Tonics EP 3 years ago that pushed his career a lot. "Brissy" was a key track. 
Felipe Gordon made 2 EPs on Toy Tonics, but the "Pontchartrain remix" was released only as a bonus digital remix. And Sano, from Colombia, usually releases on Public Possession. He made a one off EP with Kapote 2 years ago. It was just a digital release back then. So here comes the massive "Sabrosito Tool" on vinyl finally. Sick latin house track!

After critically-acclaimed releases on well-established labels such as Pont Neuf, Shall Not Fade and Strctr, Parisian artist Tour-Maubourg enters French label Noire & Blanche with yet another outstanding EP titled ‘Floating On Silence’.

‘Longing For U’ opens up the EP in a beautiful way: Complex drum rhythms are accompanied by smooth instrumentation which enters the track slowly, almost as if the instrumentalists were shy and had to gather their courage - until the saxophone takes over and plays a buoyant solo just before the 4 minutes mark.

‘I Wanna’ is centered around a swung jazz drum beat and sleek bassline played by a double bass while various playful synthesizer melodies join the track here and there and some vocal bits can be heard in the far distance.

While the first two tracks have an almost loungey character, track no. 3, ‘Nite People’, gently invites us to the dancefloor. As the four-to-the-floor kick, swung hi-hats and pointy snares unequivocally tell us to shake our hips, the rest of the ‘house band’ take it a bit more slowly – until the 303-style acid synth comes in and shouts “all right, let’s dance!” and the whole track kicks it up a notch.

The title track, ‘Floating On Silence’ represents exactly what made many of us love the music by Tour-Maubourg: It’s super soulful and sexy, with lovely jazzy melodies and an irresistible groove created by the interplay of drums, bass and percussion, foremost the driving conga rhythm. All in all, a very elegant yet dancefloor-ready deep house track.

Out of all tracks on the EP, ‘Mighty Groove’ is definitely the funkiest one. A palm-muted electric guitar, groovy synth stabs, deep bass line and earworm-inducing lead synth have a get together and the drums and percussion glue everything neatly together to round-off this artful EP by Tour-Maubourg.

New Zealander via Berlin Philippa is a producer and DJ whose passion for house music, tireless commitment to her craft and ear for what makes a dance floor tick is slowly and surely starting to pay off. Having been a prominent DJ and promoter back in New Zealand she relocated to the European mecca of electronic music in 2013, where she embraced not only Berlin’s nightlife but also its rich heritage of synthesizers, samplers, and sound design. She immersed herself in a new world which saw her lecturing at an institute of arts and technology by day and creating beautiful and unique house music by night. Launching At Peace Music in 2019 led to her music falling on the ears of Jimpster who was suitably impressed and eager to hear more.

Cut to 2022 and we’re proud to present ‘There’s A Ghost In My Synthesizer’, an EP which showcases Philippa’s musicality and production nous across 4 tracks which takes in funk-infused, rolling grooves, blissful, string-heavy atmospherics and crunchy disco beats.  On the title track Philippa goes heavy on the strings and horns bringing some welcome Philly Soul vibes to a track which is guaranteed to bring something special to the party.  ‘I Guess I Have Boy’ puts a live bass line front and centre whilst sweeping pads keep things deep and warm. The up-tempo funked up groove of ‘Dimes’ follows, giving us a little hint of Philippa’s love of jacking Chicago house but with her own unique twist with that live, jazzy feel which she does so well. Closing out the EP ‘Slow It Down’ brings a smooth, soulful touch to the release with lush strings and vocal from Mo Van Zandt.

Jon Gravy [Ion ɡreɪvi] - Inspired by admirable kwaito dancing moves of his south african family, the high musicality of his parents and the vinyl collection of his father—a former jazzclub promoter—Jon started to make music in 2013. Later on he studied multimedia/audio in the musical metropolis Salzburg.
 
His first album 'X to Love' was released in 2020 and achieved great attention for this young uprising Austrian based artist. The title track 'X to Love' was visualized by Studio Steroid and aired on BBC Radio 1. In 2021 his remix 'Friek' for 'Joe-Zawinul-Award' winner Lou Asril got a heavy rotation on the FM4 radio. 2022 he released his second Album 'MMXX' which features Anna Buchegger and DXDX aka Neon Neet.
 
Furthermore he owns a record label which represents artists from Japan to Denmark and from around the globe. Jon Gravy played at FM4 Frequency, Impulstanz Festival, Paradies Garten Festival and shared stage with Gerd Janson, Kettama, Prospa, DJ Heartstring, Paula Tape, Baltra, Lone ...
