In the past, Kuwait was a prosperous commercial enclave that rivaled the Iraqi city of Basra as an exchange center for goods moving between India and the Middle East. It was also the center of shipbuilding in the entire Persian Gulf. It later became an independent emirate, but under the British yoke.

This small summary of its history reveals that this land, for better or worse, has enriched its culture through other international cultures. For this reason, the music with which we represent Kuwait here, in addition to its oriental flavor, also contains other aromas that try to stage and magnify something of its history.

En el pasado Kuwait fue un próspero enclave comercial que rivalizó con la ciudad iraquí
de Basora como centro de intercambio para las mercancías que circulaban entre la India y Oriente Próximo. Asímismo fue el centro de la construcción naval de todo el golfo Pérsico. Más tarde pasó a formar un emirato independiente, pero bajo el yugo británico.

Este pequeño resumen de su historia rebela que esta tierra, para bien o para mal, ha enriquecido su cultura mediante otras culturas internacionales. Por ello, la música con que aquí representamos a Kuwait, además de su sabor oriental, contiene también otros aromas que tratan de escenificar y magnificar algo de su historia.
