Someday, perhaps, sensible people in large numbers will give up on this party that continually stabs its adherents in the back after most elections.  And perhaps we'll form a popular party that actually represents our interests for a change.  Who knows.

Jenn's Rough Demo

Inspired by my Great-Great-Great Aunt Mary Nolan Gleason of Marcellus Falls, NY. She lived above the bar that became an ice cream parlor and speakeasy during the 1920s. By all accounts she was a smashing woman, spirited yet classy - she even ate her morning grapefruit topped with a cherry. Her glassware from the ice cream shop is still in the family, and my folks now keep their liquor in the same pine cabinet.

Written by our very own Josh Gannon-Salomon, this ballad has become one of our go-to selections when we need something sweet and sad. Josh stole the melody from another tragic ballad, the Butcher Boy (we recommend the Clancy Brothers' version). This track was recorded live at one of our favorite venues, the Gulu-Gulu Cafe in Salem MA, and released to you just in time for this year's early crocuses.
