Delphine Malaussena a composé la musique du premier film de Jean-Baptiste Durand, CHIEN DE LA CASSE, en salle le 19 avril, l'histoire de deux amis d'enfance (Anthony Bajon et Raphaël Quenard) dans un petit village du sud de la France. Leur amitié est mise à mal par une histoire d'amour qui, par jalousie, conduit à l'humiliation. Le réalisateur Jean-Baptiste Durand nous relate cette rencontre et cette collaboration, avec sa compositrice Delphine Malaussena qui nous détaille les choix musicaux, notamment celui du violoncelle.

Chop G is a unique tune because it is performed with five string violin and cello... with a twist! Five string violin and cello tune their low C string to a low G below their open G string!

(Rescore means I "borrowed" a scene and scored it my way.) As my final project at USC I chose one of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite films. It wasn't easy as I love the original music of John Powell. It's not every day I get to write music for a 65 piece orchestra and record it at a legendary studio as the Warner Bros studios, so I just had to go all in and pick the ultimate clip. 
I owe thanks to all people involved especially Belinda Broughton and Sara Andon for your expert advice as musicians and your lovely contribution at the stage. Patrick Kirst and Bruce Broughton as my tutors. Dashiel Reed - your lovely conducting! Bobby Fernandez for another great recording. Peter Rotter for contracting such a divine orchestra. Sebastian Örnemark for feeding me when I forgot to eat and inspiring me when I was about to fall asleep. The legendary musicians Belinda Broughton, Tom Boyd, James Thatcher, Malcolm McNab for your beautiful solos.
