Albert’s Favourites co-founder Adam Scrimshire released his fourth album 'Listeners' in summer 2019. Musically, 'Listeners' draws from Scrimshire's passion for jazz, soul and electronic music of all styles; from an energetic combination of Afrobeat and garage on 'Won't Get Better', to the lushly orchestrated neo-soul of 'Thru You', and the harmonious jazz experimentations of 'I Never'. 

In Spring, Scrimshire releases a huge remix project, featuring Kayla Painter, Hector Plimmer, Red Rack'Em and more. The first remix to be taken from the album is by long-time Scrimshire influence and hero, Nite Jewel. 

Nite Jewel stamps her unique, personal sound all over this version. A digital palette of synths and rhodes playing, drum machines punching through a soul and disco exploration that revels in the sound of Georgia Anne Muldrow's unmistakeable voice. A match made in heaven.

From the moment of its release, the Listeners has generated a huge swell of support, that made many tastemakers' album of the year lists. Listeners has received repeated attention on BBC Radio 6 Music, making Tom Ravenscroft’s recommends playlist, receiving support from Mary Anne Hobbs, Huey Morgan, Steve Lamacq and featuring as an Album of the Day in early August. Scrimshire has provided a guest mix for Ravenscroft’s Friday night show and even visited BBC Radio 2 for a “Take 5” interview with Jamie Cullum.

If there is one thing I learned in Cambodia, it is all about patience. Precipitation is not compatible with creation anyway. DRAMA is the result of three years of musical production based on the best Cambodian tracks of the 60s including the voices of Sin Sisamuth, Ros Sereysothea, Pen Ran and many others. The quality as well as the production capacity of these local artists have marked a whole generation and will remain anchored in Cambodian musical culture forever. DRAMA is the story of regretted artists, intertwined with our love stories: a tribute to our past which, inevitably, will always push us forward.

S’il y a bien une chose que j’ai appris au Cambodge, c’est bel et bien la patience. La précipitation n’est pas compatible avec la création. DRAMA est l’aboutissement de trois ans de production musicale sur la base des meilleurs titres Cambodgiens des années 60 avec les voix de Sin Sisamouth, Ros Sereysothea, Pan Ron et bien d’autres encore. La qualité ainsi que la capacité de production de ces artistes locaux ont marqué l’ensemble d’une génération et resteront désormais ancrés dans la culture musicale cambodgienne. DRAMA, c’est l’histoire d’artistes regrettés, entremêlés à nos histoires d’amours: un hommage à nos passés qui, fatalement, nous feront toujours avancer.
