This is an example of the Toppobrillo Quantimator in chord mode playing arpeggios. When applying a 5V signal to the HOLD input and then sending a trigger into the TRIG input the output jacks will cycle through the notes of the current chord. This patch makes use of a Tiptop Audio Z8000 that is modulating the CHORD CV input.

Toppobrillo Quantimator Test

The three outputs of the Quantimator were feeding three Blacet VCO triangle waves, all tuned to E2. First manually turned the chord knob to move through all 32 chords, then turned the transpose knob down a little and dialed back through all chords again. Then added triangle LFOs to the Transpose CV in and the Chord CV in, so they were both independently wiggled into different modes. Then added a clock to the trigger input to give a slow tempo to the CV inputs effect.

Three outputs of Quantimator feed 1V/oct CV ins of three Blacet VCO sine waves, with a third VCO sending a sine wave at low rates to the input, and a clock sent to the TRIG input. About every 30 seconds I shifted to a different scale manually - starting with Chromatic, then Major Pentatonic, Blues, Bali Pelog, Egyptian, Surf, and ending with Prism.

First I monkey with a randomized "Analog Shift Register" mode, then switch to a randomized Arpeggio mode by hitting the mode button. An LFO square wave was turning HOLD on and off and two independent triangle LFOs CV'd the Transpose and Scale inputs.

Quanti-jam

Quantimator in Sixtone Symmetrical scale mode. Three outputs to three Blacet VCOs, fourth VCO to the input (first at a lower rate, maybe 90Hz, then later up to real high- like 12kHz). Clock to TRIG, output mixed and sent to Blacet Stonz phase shifter, two outputs to two Blacet Time Machines. Bats in the belfry, butts on the barfly, beans on the bellhop.

Modular-synth only, recorded in one take, no external sequencing or processing, bar my new Eventide Space reverb pedal which I use within the signal path just any other module.

Toppobrillo Quantimator: Arp Chords DEMO

The centrepiece of this track is a patch built around using a combination of noise, sequencing and the Toppobrillo Quantimator's analogue shift register mode to phase distort different channels of the WMD in different, but related/chaotic, but ordered ways. 

Clearly, I've returned to using my old favourite Dynaverb from my Eventide Space reverb pedal, but apart from that, this track was created, generated and performed entirely with only my Eurorack modular synth, no external processing or sequencing.

The Quantimator is controlling the pitch of the Piston Honda and is also controlling the frequency of the Hertz Donut's secondary oscillator in LFO mode.

Eventide

This track I used the upcoming Toppobrillo Quantimator to play all my music!! In ASR mode I had the Quanti control something like 5 oscillators including the AFG, ULFO, Hertz Donut, Malekko Uncle Osc, and the Tiptop Z3000. THIS JAM WAS RECORDED LIVE AS ONE TRACK. NO EFFECTS OR OVERDUBS.  All sounds are from eurorack modules with all triggers being generated from two 4ms RCD's and two SCM's and 1 Doepfer A-160/161. Basically one giant patch. other modules used were Wiard boogie, borg 2, noisering, envelator, ASol SQ8, Makenoise Maths, Plan B M13, Oakley VCA, Harvestman Polivoks VCF, AS EMS VCF, and the list goes on.....
