Dutch label Outplay is proud to present their first vinyl release - A collection of four deep, warm and fuzzy house tracks by Outplay co-owners Daniël Leseman and Junktion. While both Daniël Leseman and Junktion are showcasing their individual talent on the release, their new collaborative project Fouk sees the light of day for the first time. Influenced by the soulful house sounds of old Chicago and Detroit, this vinyl debut from Outplay shows you what they're all about.

Fouk - Elevator Groove

Outplay’s third vinyl release will be from young Mancunian artist Loz Goddard. With releases on Large Music and Editorial he has been making a great impression with his combination of disco and beatdown house. A well balanced blend between samples and synth work makes this a varied EP and a great showcase for Loz’s sound. Outplay’s own Fouk takes care of the remix, turning the lush “It Will Come To Me” into a solid dance floor track with added bass line groove.

The second release on Ravanelli Disco Club comes from french producer Yann Polewka. He's enlisted jazzy englishman Cody Currie for remix duties and we must say its perfect for the summer. Cody Has been moving away from sample based productions of late in favor of crisp original productions and we like it!. This is a very warm and bouncy affair, with live keys laid down in the studio with squiggly synth leads and bubbling acid arps dancing away over his clever use of the original sample material given.

Today, we present a series of club-oriented re-imaginings from the Book of Thump. We are not trying to re-write the tales or stories, but rather provide a new context for the same teachings and mythical proverbs. Fouk, Cody Currie, Friend Within embark on an interstellar voyage to assist in this quest for new knowledge and insight. Voyagers like Sam von Horn, Danny Goliger, Henry Was, Benny Bridges and Justin Jay also bring forth their own interpretations of the eternal tales encapsulated​ in the Book of Thump. If we are ever unsure of what the stories mean, we can always look to the Book itself for guidance: as chapter 2 of the Book exclaims, "Dance Like It's Your Life!" Enjoy.

Naked which lands this week via @boogieangst see's a wonderful collision of two of Le Visiteur Online's favourite artists @kraaksmaak and @justsayfouk. Kraak & Smaak's wonderful original track is a summer funk gem, one of those smooth sun infused musical moments which Kraak & Smaak seem to be able to craft time and time again. For our premier today Fouk takes the track and flips it into something deeper, darker yet no less euphoric and life affirming. The third release in our special digital summer series is the debut of an exciting artist from The Netherlands. “A Bunch of Guys” is the new alias of Utrecht based dj/producer Rob Scholtens, formerly known from “Pablo Discobar Soundsystem”. After 5 years as one half of the Dutch DJ duo, playing a lot of shows all across NL, he’s now working on his solo career with renewed energy.

The opener “Filthy Rhodes” is a pumping house track that will surely make you move! With it’s old school piano house chords and melody this one is made for pure good times. Followed by “Let the Rhythm Hit’em” where It’s all about, you guessed it, the rhythm. The combination of smooth jazzy drums, piano and the double bass, played live by Rob, will surely move your feet and keep you dancin’. Last of the originals is “Launch VII” a deep journey with Detroit flavors build around a rocket launch sample and gently driving you deeper into electronic atmospheres and towards a funky keys solo.

As the perfect topping to this great well crafted debut EP we asked our good friends and all time fave Dutch producers “Fouk” to produce a big remix of “Let the Rhythm Hit’em”. They boost the original to a raw and rolling Chicago-esque House banger. With their solid and chunky production this one is a big encore to close the EP.

Hot off the press for our premier today is the @justsayfouk remix of @smoove-and-turrell’s brilliant Fade Away.  It's part of an immense remix project for Smoove & Turrell's album Statos Bleu which landed earlier in the year via @jalapeno-records.

Here Fouk line up aside Ashley Beedle, Hot Toddy and Ray Mang for what is surely one of the most impressive remix teams assembled in 2020.

Fouk have excelled themselves yet again with their remix which is a wonderfully warm and rewarding listen.

For Daniel Leseman & Junktion (Hans Peeman), successful producers on their own merits and friends since childhood, a collaboration was inevitable. Their house sound infused with disco and a lot of funk has been proven to be very infectious.

After the infamous Detroit Swindle signed them to their Heist imprint and released the booming Kill Frenzy EP their name was established firmly to a broad and quickly growing audience. The result was requests for DJ sets across Europe, the America’s & Australia with personal highlights including Glastonbury, LoveBox, Concrete Paris, Output New York, Club Space Miami, Claire and De Marktkantine in Amsterdam.

Their first vinyl release as Fouk, on their own Outplay Records was met with great enthusiasm, the brilliant reactions to ‘Stuff Your Dad Liked’ and ‘Cat Lady’ propelled Fouk and Outplay firmly into the scene as the ‘one to watch’. Since then they’ve released EP’s on Room With A View, The House of Disco and Razor-n-Tape and made a string of strong remixes for the likes of Kraak & Smaak, Smoove & Turrell, Groove Armada, The Brand New Heavies, Luke Million, Joey Negro and Mayer Hawthorne.

After releasing ‘Release The Kraken EP’ featuring Thumpasaurus on The House of Disco, ‘Truffles EP’ on Heist Recordings in 2019 and two EP’s on their own Outplay offshoot ’24 Carrot’ they return again on Heist in 2021 with ‘Blue Steel EP’. Continuing to build on the sound they have evolved throughout the years with a new impulse of creativity.
