“Afbrudt Evighed” is the new album by jjjacob, out March 6th on cassette and digital via Janushoved. The
record marks his first physical release and his eleventh release to date, as well as his first project outside
his own label katharsis since 2020. The tracks unfold with fluid transitions on each side of the cassette,
forming two continuous arcs that subtly echo the title’s idea of an interrupted eternity. It is also the first
work of his to carry Danish titles, suggesting a subtle realignment in voice and direction.

Working within a sensitive strain of ambient trance and emotive electronics, the album unfolds gradually.
Much of the first half is nearly beatless, shaped by shimmering synth tones, layered atmospheres, and
obscure samples that surface and recede. The emotional register leans toward longing, reminiscence,
melancholy and uncertainty. Existential themes run quietly through the record, touching on belief, doubt
and the tension between origin and ending. Repetition plays a central role, allowing small changes to
carry weight.

On Side B, the constraint gradually loosens, and the tonal palette grows darker, as if the music is moving
toward an inevitable ending. The stillness opens up, and a new energy gathers beneath the surface.
Breakbeats enter more forcefully towards later stages, adding impact and momentum without abandoning the reflective core established earlier on. What begins as inward and suspended becomes more physical, yet remains emotionally grounded.

textures drift through gated pads and slow-moving harmonies, while vibrant arpeggios flicker at the
edges. Patterns loop and stretch, tones held in suspension. There is an ongoing tension between
emergence and disappearance, between something newly formed and something reaching its organic
end.

limits, moving between the beginning and the end of existence.

"cRis" is the debut album by French-Slovenian artist Andra, releasing on katharsis on the 19th of March – a gentle yet abrasive bubble exploring the tenderness of death and the impulses of life hiding in the darkest corners. Broken guitar echoes resonate endlessly within its ambient noise structures, reaching toward the deepest caves. The record moves between ethereal layers and moments of sonic overstimulation, holding both delicacy and excess in the same space, slipping in and out of reality’s edges.

Rooted in a practice shaped by electroacoustic composition and a close attention to both natural and urban environments, the productions draw on club aesthetics only to dismantle them, dissolving any stable sense of rhythm or linear time. What appears structured is gradually undone; what seems soft is edged with grain and friction. Between synthetic chaos and suspended atmosphere, the album swings between weight and suspension, clarity and saturation, without settling into either.

The title holds a double reference to the album's themes: a cry, as in a scream, and as in a chrysalis – a body enclosed, preparing to split. The artwork mirrors this tension, depicting a blurred figure mid-transformation, shifting from pupa to insect in overexposed grain. cRis remains in that state of becoming, where enclosure and release overlap, holding the tension of a body about to split.
